We have been trying to craft a statement, and how best to respond to these sad times. We hear so many words of anger and grief, and we know we need to be selective and clear.
Black Lives Matter. Period.
Duane Park Patisserie and Ring Ding Bar stand unequivocally alongside the black community in the fight against racism, discrimination and injustice. We condemn those systems that perpetuate racism and exhibit violence in its name.
However, while it's important to show solidarity on social media, posting alone won't save black lives. Building awareness is a start, but we will channel our outrage and frustration into action, and we urge our followers to do the same. Duane Park Patisserie and Ring Ding Bar are committed to supporting the black community in and beyond this fight through sound and moral business practices, donation to relevant organizations and support groups, self-education and ultimately, political action. We won't see progress until systemic inequities are dismantled.
The future is in our collective hands.
