I’m imagining explaining to my 13-year-old self how the New York Knicks 🏀 changed our life. I don’t think I would be able to do it.
I cannot pretend to be a diehard Knicks fan the entire time. In fact, I grew up in the Kingdom of New Jersey as a Nets fan in the glorious Jason Kidd, Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson era. I was blessed with the opportunity to go to a bunch of Nets and Knicks games and they always felt different. Nets games felt familiar at the Izod Center/Continental Airlines Arena (why tf do I feel so old rn?) while Knicks games at MSG always felt like an adventure. MSG became a home venue with my Phish career and it’s now that same familiar feeling.
Once the Nets moved to Brooklyn, and I started doing drugs, I lost interest in all professional sports very quickly. After getting sober, over the years sports have made a comeback in my life, though mostly through football. But man seeing the Knicks vs Pacers in 2025 was like a taste of greatness. This past playoff run was like a 4 week bender through another dimension and changed it all for us. The New York Knicks took Good Baklava to the next level and we will never stop serving this community and city.
Yes, I might have hopped on the band wagon, but after the Nets left the Kingdom, I need a basketball team, and the Knicks clearly need a Baklava Guy.
We’ll see you all season long with baklava shenanigans and doing dumb s**t outside Madison Square Garden 🧡
