πŸ’› If recently helped πŸ’›

If you’ve received help from us recently and have a moment, we would be so grateful if you’d leave a review on our page. Your kind words help others learn about our mission, build trust in our community, and help us continue reaching families across Kent County.

Every review, big or small, means more than you know. Thank you for being part of our village. πŸ«ΆπŸΌπŸ’›

✨ Behind the scenes at The Village ✨

This is what my week currently looks like. πŸ˜…

Every yellow card is a family still waiting to for pickup this week. The good news? Everyone from Monday through today has already been helped and moved into the finished bin. πŸ’›

If you’ve sent a message and I haven’t responded yet, please know it may be because I’m working through this stack and answering families who have earlier pickup times first. Sometimes I need to get immediate scheduling details handled before I can work my way back through messages.

This is our Wednesday-Friday πŸ™ŒπŸΌ BEYOND thankful to be this busy πŸ₯ΉπŸ«ΆπŸΌ

Thank you for your grace, patience, and kindness while I work through this mountain of cards. One family at a time, we’re getting there. πŸ’›

Today’s restock has us feeling incredibly grateful! πŸ₯ΉπŸ’›

We sent out our Salty Mama shopper to Daily Deals Food Outlet with a budget and a mission: stretch every dollar as far as possible. Not only did she score a mountain of 99Β’ deals, but she came back with change too! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

From pantry staples to family favorites, we were able to bring home so much more than we expected. Every deal we find means more support for the families we serve and fuller shelves for the Village.

Now it’s time to get these goodies sorted and back out into the community! 🫢🏼✨

πŸ₯ΉπŸ’› Rainy afternoon organizing while the baby napped today

Last week, Jenna at Food Hugs blessed the village with a huge canned food donation, and today I finally had a chance to get everything organized. Add in all the amazing shopping finds from the Meijer $1 deals that ended today, and our shelves are looking incredible 🫢🏼

Not only are the shelves full, but our fridge and freezer are packed too! And once again, our friends at Daily Deals helped us stretch every dollar even further with incredible cold food finds. Being able to snag freezer items, meats, and other essentials at prices we can actually afford means we can help more families with the same budget. πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

Every can donated, every deal shared, and every dollar stretched means more families in our village can get the support they need. Some days it’s easy to focus on what’s running low, but today I’m choosing to focus on how blessed this village truly is.

Thank you to every single person who continues to show up for our village. πŸ’œπŸ’›

How many cans do you think were donated to the village? πŸ‘€

We’ve already sent 50+ cans back out into the community, and this is what was still left to sort and stock on the shelves. πŸ˜πŸ’› counting currently and so thankful knowing how many families will get some of these goodies πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

Drop your guess below!

Thank you, Jenna, for continuing to show up for our villagers. Your support means more than you know. πŸ«ΆπŸΌπŸ’œπŸ’›

The roses are blooming and so is the reminder that our village is for everyone. No matter who you are, who you love, where you come from, or what you believe you belong here. Kindness grows best when everyone has a place at the table. 🌈✨

πŸŒ±πŸ’œ Hii villagers! πŸ’œπŸŒ±

I have some more plants ready to be adopted out!

Available:
🌱 Green beans
πŸ… A few larger tomato plants
πŸ«‘ Bell peppers
🌿 Basil

The smaller tomato plants are all beefsteak tomatoes, but they will need to be repotted soon. I simply don’t have enough pots right now to get them all moved into larger containers.

If you’d like to give some plants a new home and grow a little food of your own this summer, comment below and we’ll get a pickup scheduled! πŸ’›

Jenna, founder of FOOD HUGS, already spends so much of her time serving our community through her own nonprofit, which makes this donation mean even more. πŸ₯ΉπŸ’›

She heard we were getting low on canned goods and reached out with an incredible donation. What you can see in this picture is only part of it there are also two full rows of boxes packed with cans behind the seats that aren’t visible. 😭

I know first hand how much work goes into running a nonprofit. The endless emails, shopping, organizing, fundraising, and showing up day after day for people who need you. So for Jenna to take time away from her own mission to support ours is something I don’t take lightly.

This is what a village looks like.Just people who care about their community helping each other make a bigger impact together πŸ©·πŸ’›

Thank you, Jenna, for continuously showing up for West Michigan and for believing in what we’re building over here 🫢🏼 Your kindness won’t be forgotten. πŸ’›πŸ«ΆπŸΌ
