Remember about a month ago when we showed you how we trimmed our petunia hanging baskets and containers in front of the greenhouse? Well, here's how they look after their haircut! It's amazing what a little trim and some time can do for summer plant rejuvenation!

We need some sunshine! Spent a couple hours in the garden this morning cutting out spent blooms, leaves that are starting to mildew. I thinned out some zinnias that were super think so there would be more airflow. Hopefully with a little sunshine we can keep that mildew at bay.

Not sure where this recipe came from but we’ve had it for years, I’m sure there are tons of variations out there. We wait all summer for our tomatoes to be ready so we can make this! What’s your favorite summer tomato recipe?

I love Zinnias! Learning the wiggle test to make sure they are ready to cut and trusting the process of cutting deep have been game changers! Who else loves Zinnias?!

Who says a vegetable garden can't be beautiful, too?

Join Caroline & Ellie as they explore the goose-neck gourd vine tower growing in our Teaching Garden. Trained over an archway, these vigorous vines are creating a living tunnel that's just as fun to walk through as it is to admire!

It's a great reminder that edible gardens can be creative, whimsical, and full of personality. Sometimes all it takes is growing up instead of out.

Would you add a vine tunnel or archway to your own garden? We'd love to know what you'd grow on it!

The secret is in things being homegrown. 🌱

What is it about a homegrown tomato that can’t be matched by store-bought? The extra special backyard flavor, the juice running down your chin, the smell of the leaves as you pick your very own….

Or the fresh green beans that you grew from a pack of seeds… the frozen aisle just doesn’t cut it anymore after that extra fresh snap and crunch right there in the garden bean aisle.

Or a visit to the county fair where you see kids of all ages bringing their very own homegrown to show off and share with us! Animals all over, talent show singing, dust from the horse arena, and fair food.

Homegrown things are just... the whole thing. The full thing. The true thing. Complete as should be.

And we've got our own Grow Club homegrown to share with you and the whole family!🌻

It’s August, we’ve been tending to these plants all summer.Don’t give up now, most will bloom until frost! Even though we got a lot of rain by us last night, still feel the soil. Leaves can shed a lot of water. If it feels really wet, don’t water. If it feels just damp or dry, give it a drink because it’s going to be sunny today!
