We’re hiring ☕️

We’re looking for two part time team members to join our bakery - two different roles, both an important part of our little bakery.

🥐 CAFE & KITCHEN (Sundays + shift cover)
•working most Saturdays or Sundays
•occasional weekday cover
•holiday cover
•kitchen and front of house role

You’ll be preparing fresh, simple (but elevated) cafe style food, baking off our pastries and serving customers in our shop and cafe.

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you enjoy a calm but busy environment, are happy to turn your hand to anything and get stuck in where help is needed and are friendly, reliable and team focussed.

We know… you may think (because pizza night has been less than infrequent) that this is an April fool… but it’s no joke. We are… actually, properly and definitely doing pizza night this week 😂

Good morning ☀️

Ok… so we’re at Bakewell market today (no drama there at all)… but the market in Ashbourne has been cancelled due to high winds and although we don’t actually have a stall there (because it’s right outside our shop) we just wanted to let you know that we still have plenty of bread, cakes and coffee available all day until 2pm.

So… no market… no problem!

We’re open in Crich today from 9am for ‘Sunday Club’… grab a paper, a book, pop in grab a coffee, pull up a chair and hunker down 🤗

We had a good bit of bread left from yesterday because of the cancelled market so you can also get a loaf of you’ve missed out over the last few snowy days you can get some real bread at a bit of a discount 😉

Ha ha… well. Hero’s we ain’t BUT some epic commitment from the entire team last night and today.

Our bakers were in last night when the snow started and quite frankly it came so quick in Crich that it was safer for them to stay put. So they baked through the night, while the village slept blanketed by snow (nice image that, isn’t it)??? And well then, they got stuck and didn’t ended up leaving until late morning (when they are usually back in bed)! So for anyone who had fresh bread today… you know who to thank!

Rebecca went to great lengths to get to the shop in Ashbourne and managed it… Anton drove around Derbyshire delivering to our wholesale customers like the Stig 💪🏼 Jas & Bridget got the shop open and ready in Crich not a minute later than usual, Tim cooked in the kitchen, Danny and Keith baked during the day and I drew the short straw and had to deliver the home deliveries with my dad at the wheel (he drove… I jumped out and delivered). WHAT A TEAM. Out of everyone… only one person missed! And you bet your life we’ll make it up to them 🥰 You know why…?

We’re a small business and that’s what we do!

Now… serious matters. We’re open in Crich and Ashbourne tomorrow as normal BUT the market in Belper has been cancelled however… Pippa from has offered us the space (inside or out) so we will be in Belper tomorrow either in the market place or inside Twenty Eight! We’ll have a lot of bread so as usual your support means the world and we’d love to go home with an empty van.
