When I did my pop up back in November I had a lovely lady come to see me who had a special request for her 50th cake. Tragically her son Tom died and she hadn’t celebrating her birthday since his passing. She had a poem her son had wrote when he was little and asked if I could add that to the cake somehow and even better if it was in his hand writing. I really wanted to find a way to make this possible and after speaking to she said she’d be able to sort the poem side of things for me and in his hand writing!
My customer also said bee’s, paw prints, love hearts were all little things that made her feel connected to her son. She had seen a wedding cake I had done before with the stencil pattern and gold accents and wanted something similar but on a smaller scale.
I was so desperate to get this cake exactly how she’d imagined as I knew it meant so much to her and she was so kind and lovely!🥰 I was so happy to be able to bring her some happiness after some difficult times! ❤️

PLEASE READ ➡️ As some of you may of noticed I’ve not been as active on here as I used to and there is a reason for that…I’ll be putting Ellie’s Bakes on pause for the foreseeable🥲🥲as I’m going to Australia in February! Not sure how long I’ll be gone for but tbh I’m not going to be in any rush to come back 😅 at first I didn’t want to leave my business I’ve been building up for the last couple years but recently every time I come on to this account there seems to be another cake business closing down due to cost increases etc and it has taken the enjoyment out of it for me. I still love making and decorating cakes but trying to make a living out of it has definitely become difficult! Anyone that knows me knows my dream is to have my own cafe/cake shop one day as I love food as well not just cake 😂 but the current economy definitely doesn’t give me the confidence to take that step yet. So I’m going to take a break from this part of my life, go and work in Australia with my boyfriend, enjoy some time together after a year a half of living 400 miles apart and then hopefully when the times right I can open my own place 🤩 I’ll be taking orders until the end of January! Thank you to everyone who’s supported me and my business up to now 💜💜
