In 1980, the Gillespie family opened the first Bakers Delight bakery in Australia. 45 years later, what began as one family’s dream has grown into hundreds of bakeries around the world, all united by the same commitment to community, quality and care!
While the name is Bakers Delight in Australia and COBS Bread in North America, we are all part of the same family-owned bakery business 😊

The family tradition lives on in Riverside with the Hyden Family!
Since opening in 2020, the Hyden family has been passionate about bringing people together through fresh baking and giving back to the community they call home.
Co-franchisees Rob and Louise lead the bakery alongside their son, Tom, creating a truly family-owned and operated bakery. Whether it’s supporting organizations like Abilis and Swim Across America or serving fresh bread to local families, community is at the heart of everything they do! 🥹
The family tradition continues with the Mather family in Stamford!
After building a successful bakery journey in Australia, the Mather family moved to Connecticut to help lay the foundation for COBS Bread in the United States.
For the family, being a franchisee means carrying forward the vision of the Gillespie family while creating a legacy for future generations. Their daughter, Kalani, continues the family connection from Australia, where she works at Bakers Delight Head Office.
Together, the Mathers family is proud to bring fresh baking, quality and care to the Stamford community every day! ❤️
