I mentioned taking people to Vietnam…

Next thing I know, I’m on an early-morning call with a potential partner there. Our sleepy faces say it all—but the itineraries look 🔥.

More details coming soon.

Want to be among the first to know when the itineraries drop? Leave your name and email in the Google Form in the comments.

P.S. If you completed my initial interest survey, you’re already on the list.

The Columbus Farmers Market reminds me of the goodness of a tight-knit community.

Over the course of a season, the people in the booths and trailers around me stop feeling like fellow vendors and start feeling like my Saturday morning neighbors.

Will, Jacob, and Jr. serve vibe and delicious lemonades at the Lemonade Bros. Lorie works hard setting up her elaborate tent and shakes up more lemonade. Avery and John stands proud with the best local honey from E’s Bees. Hyo-eun bakes the beautiful loaves with a touch of Korea at Lim’s Bakery. David twists balloons like there's no tomorrow. And, many others...

Week after week, we show up in the same little corner of Columbus.

We sell things, of course. But we also trade stories. We laugh. We talk about our families and our businesses. We complain about the heat. We watch each other’s booths. We greet familiar customers and meet new ones.

And before you know it, summer has nearly passed.

There are only three markets left this season.

Someday, I suspect I won’t remember exactly how many cookies I sold on a particular Saturday.

But I’ll remember these mornings.

The sunshine coming through the trees. The familiar faces passing by. The conversations between customers. The laughter from the trailer next door. The feeling of being part of a little Saturday morning community that exists for a few hours each week, and then disappears until the next Saturday.

That’s what I love about the Columbus Farmers Market.

It reminds me that community doesn’t always have to be something big or complicated.

Sometimes it’s just people showing up, week after week, for one another. Sounds simple? Yes. Easy? No.

It’s been my privilege to be here.

Cookie Paradise is now in the concert ticket re-selling business (not really)...

Sadly, Bruno Mars has made it very clear that he does not want my hugs, my kisses, or my unconditional love. 💔 So I’m selling our two tickets and giving someone else the opportunity to be rejected by him—from a safe distance.

🎟️ Two adjoining tickets
📍 Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis
📅 Wednesday, September 9 at 7 PM
💺 Section 625, Row 22, Seats 5–6
💰 $600 for the pair

Tickets will be transferred electronically through Ticketmaster. Message me if interested—serious buyers only. Bruno has already wasted enough of my time.

I have a new labeler machine. Thank you, Armando Ramos and Lion's Ark Industrial, for your diligence in helping me source and set up this machine.

It should reduce our manual labor and save time until AI becomes so smart that the labeler becomes the lord and I revert to be the labeler.

I'm at Holiday Center from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. today.

Please buy cookies and help me pay for this machine so that First Financial doesn't come knocking on my doors!

Oatmeal raisins are 50% off.

Living the dream

Charles W. Johnson came by to give me his book. He has been working on it since college, he said.

"For something that you've worked on since college," I thought, "it's an awfully thin book." Sorry, Charles! I wouldn't tease you if I didn't consider you a friend.

"You are an inspiration," Charles signed on the first page.

"What have I done?" I asked.

"You're out here living the dream," Charles replied. "You're doing it, and people should see it."

Charles' comment tickled me. Here I was, slinging cookies from an open, unconditioned trailer in a parking lot, summer came winter, and another man called me "an inspiration" and "living the dream." I wondered what we, as men, were thinking sometimes.

But, truth be told, I wouldn't have it any other way.

I felt like I was living the dream, my dream, however crude and humble it was.

These days, I just focused on a few things: stay in my lane, pursue my interests, make money, take care of my kids, and protect my inner peace.

Charles' extremely short stories (again, sorry, Charles 😉) can be purchased digitally on Amazon for $0.99 or in paper back for $4.95.

I'll include the link in the comments.

You're also welcome to borrow my signed copy.

As usual, I'm at the Holiday Center slinging cookies until 5:30 p.m. Menu's in the comments.
