Sometimes you are out of your comfort zone, and this was it!

My customer sent me an image of what she would like, a simple design. But nowhere to hide...🫣
But I had every confidence in myself that I could do this...and then I had to...😐
The struggle was real!
I got myself a nice smooth blank canvas then i spent the next 1.5 hours practicing The 'One' on a flat surface.
Then i started piping onto the cake and thats when panic set in 😅
It just wasn't going to plan.
Writing with buttercream and doing lines around a vertical cake is a Whole different story!

After what felt like three hours I phoned my customer up saying'I am so sorry but I just can't do this! I felt the disappointment through the phone 🥹
But she was just amazing and so understanding 🙏
She even suggested that I try applying the lines with fondant 😃
I did try, but just didn't work.

So I just went for it one last time..
As I was piping the lines they were forming into drop lines and wiggling 😩
But just went with it.

Bespoke cakes are pricey.
The customer deserves the best.
This was my best.
I sent an image to my customer.
Waiting for her reply....🙈
She came back with "I Love it"!!!

Its rustic.
Not perfect.
But my customer loved it.
