🚂✨ This Weekend and Friday at Stithians Showground! ✨🚂

Pixie Bakes Cornwall will be in the Craft Marquee at the West of England Steam Engine Society Vintage Rally – and we’re bringing LOTS of our delicious homemade cakes! 🍰🧁

But that’s not all… 📸
We also have a second stall selling my photographic cards – perfect for gifts or a little treat for yourself.

Come along, enjoy the sights and sounds of this amazing event, and don’t forget to pop by and say hello, it is set to be a fantastic weekend with 90 full sized steam engines and lots of other things to see.

🐔 A Sweet Sunday at Cornhill Farm 🌾

Today we took a little break from the oven and headed out for a family day at Cornhill Farm for Open Farm Sunday! 💚

It was such a lovely chance to show the kids (and ourselves!) exactly where our eggs come from — and why we’re so proud to use only Cornhill eggs in every Pixie Bakes cake. 🧁🥚

Supporting local means everything to us — from farm to fork (or cake stand!) — and days like this remind us just how special that connection is.

We didn’t get many photos (too busy enjoying the sunshine, animals, and fresh air!) but here are some quick snaps from our visit 📸✨

💩 Because 6-year-old humour is the best kind! 🎉

These cheeky chocolate "poo" cupcakes were made for my son to hand out to his classmates on his birthday. I’d originally planned to make cute Highland cow cakes… but in true 6-year-old fashion, he changed his mind last minute and asked for poo cakes instead! 🙈

They might not be what I had in mind, but they were a huge hit with his friends—and to be honest, they're actually our top seller at events. Turns out, no one can resist a giggle and chocolate!

🎉 A special bake for a special boy! 🎂

This chocolate cake was made with lots of love for my son's 6th birthday. While I usually focus on smaller bakes and tray bakes, this one was a bit of an adventure, especially with the ganache not behaving in the warm kitchen!

It’s not quite the polished finish I’d aim for in a celebration order, and is why I don't currently offer larger celebration cakes, but it was full of joy (and chocolate) and very well received by the birthday boy and his friends. 💛

Just a little behind-the-scenes to show that not every bake has to be perfect to be meaningful.

✨🧁 Highland Cow Cupcake Progress! 🐮✨

Had a go at making some highland cow cupcakes today! I’m not 100% happy with them just yet – still tweaking a few things to get them just right. I think a slightly wider piping tip for the mane will help give that lovely shaggy look, and I’ll be making the noses a little smaller next time and a slightly smaller tip for the eyes. I’ve also got some new colours to play with, but I want to get the piping just right first!

I have the tedious task of manually adding every postcode that we deliver to to get the website properly functioning with local delivery options. Once this has been completed, I will have a few days of baking to get photos of some new products to add to the website.

We will be selling our cakes and some savoury items at St Buryan Methodist Chapel this Saturday between 12 and 5. There will be a good mix of craft stalls.
