Simple? Yes. Plain? …Not a chance. 🥯

Plain bagels are so much more than plain. The quintessential flavor — the base for all other bagels. Though they are unadorned, they always proudly wear that shiny crust and hold that signature chewy crunch, with just a touch of malty sweetness.

Just popped the lid on this inaugural loaf in my new ovens — the rise unfolded beautifully. It’s what my bread baking dreams are made of. Can’t wait to deliver this beauty to its sourdough-loving owner this afternoon! 🍞

The end of August is slipping in quietly. The summer is shifting down and giving way to the turn of the seasons. This time of year always delights me. Afternoon thunderstorms erupt spontaneously. The cicadas sing extra loud, as if in their final symphony. The geese fly together in V-formation, practicing for their long winter’s journey ahead. There is a subtle shift in the morning temperature and the movement of the light through the trees, hinting to cooler days in the foreground.

In keeping with nature’s calling, our very last summer menu of 2026 is now live through Wednesday for pickup on Saturday 8/29. We will soon be foraying into glorious Fall scenery and flavors. We hope to bake up something scrumptious for you for this last turn of the season before we welcome Autumn in to stay. Happy Monday, y’all! ☀️🍂

Seeing baking in a new light. I’ve been quiet lately, and here’s why. ✨

This weekend marks the very last pickup day at my Hidden Lakes bakery location, where it all started. We have been behind the scenes making our way to our brand new location, filled with glorious sunlight and spaciousness. Please note the change in address when ordering for pickups starting next week — Saturday, August 29th.

I’m feeling so inspired. I can’t wait to greet you in our new space and bake up many delicious, homemade goodies for you from our new kitchen. Next online menu is live this Sunday morning at 9am. Hope to see you soon! 🤎

No matter what age I am…it’s always been such a comfort to head home for a proper visit with Mom. Having time to chat, chill and eat tons of delicious bagels is my ideal form of therapy. I’m on a quick summer break, soaking in a little rest, relaxation and replenishment with this amazing lady. She is the one who got me started on my bread making journey and has been an endless source encouragement along the way. ☀️

The bakery is closed this week — BUT — the new online menu is LIVE now (link in bio) and I will be back on Monday, fresh and ready to roll those bagels for pickup on Saturday 8/22.

I’m excited to get started on planning and prep for an action-packed Fall market season just around the corner. See ya soon, Spartanburg! 🍁
