Today is the day! Orders are now open for Smörgåstårta or sandwich cakes. It's essentially a giant decorated sandwich, with layers of bread and a layer of skagenrora (a dilly shrimp salad) and a layer of a smoked salmon egg salad. All this is topped with more seafood and seasonal veggies. It's a really special treat and I only make it once a year.

Hello out there! I am back from vacation and ready to get baking for you all! It's always so nice to be away on vacation, but it is also so great to come home and get back to routine.

It's almost midsummer and you know what that means - sandwich cakes are coming next week! But first, the sweets. This week I have my take on a classic Swedish jordgubbs tårta. It's a classic sponge cake with a strawberry filling and loaded with whipped cream. It's a perfect taste of early summer!

I'll also have classic princess cakes available as well as fika boxes with all the treats you need for a weekend at the pool, river, beach, or any other body of water you can get near to keep cool.

It's Mothers Day this weekend and I have a gorgeous menu for you. Strawberry cake, Lemon meringue tart and a Mamma's fika box with a pavlova and my new favorite creme brûlée mini pie. It's going to fill up fast, so order quick!

Oops! I forgot to post a menu yesterday! Monday was my birthday and I took the day 'off' and then got all my days mixed up.

I am in the swing of strawberry season and excited to bring this one back! My take on the Swedish jordgubbs tårta, a simple sponge cake with whipped cream strawberry filling, whipped cream to frost the cake and then topped in fresh strawberries. The honeysuckle in my garden is popping, so I will probably decorate with them this week.

Also back this week are the classic Swedish cinnamon buns topped with pearl sugar, they're different from the gooey American version, but equally delicious.

It's my birthday week and once again I am filling my menu with my favorite things!

I first made this strawberry princess cake 5 years ago as my dream birthday cake, a cross between a classic princess cake and a classic Swedish strawberry cake, and it remains one of my (and your) favorites! If I had to total how many I have made in the last 5 years, it would be in the hundreds and I cannot thank you all enough for your support in this baking endeavor of mine!

There's also a birthday fika box on the menu, with my favorite chocolate caramels, pistachio chocolate chip cookies, a new favorite the cardamom creme brûlée pie and last but not least, the raspberry mini sticky cakes.

Better later than never but I am here with a little easter menu for you! I will have the classic princess cake available for the holiday as well as a new pie I have had a hankering to make. Inspired by Erin McDowell, it's a cardamom creme brûlée pie! A flakey crust, smooth creme brûlée filling and the signature caramel crunch on top, it's going to be a lovely addition for the holiday table. Finally, Easter means sunset on Semla buns, so I am bringing them back for one last hurrah this weekend.
