Traveling 4 Changes:

One of the things these experiences continue to remind me is that human connection has a way of reaching all of us.

You come willing to show up.
To listen.
To share.
To be present.
To grow.

And somewhere in that connection, you realize no one walks away untouched.

Something is shared.
Something is received.
Something shifts on both sides.

We see each other differently.
We see ourselves differently.

Making a difference isn’t one-directional.

We affect one another.

And what we take home - what we allow to change us, and what we choose to do with it - matters.

We can’t do this alone.

What we do matters.

You come here thinking you know what connection looks like.And then you sit with people.You listen to their stories.You ...

You come here thinking you know what connection looks like.

And then you sit with people.
You listen to their stories.
You share some of yours.
You laugh together.
You allow yourself to be uncomfortable.

And somewhere in all of that, you realize something -

This isn’t about who is giving and who is receiving.

That’s the part of Traveling 4 Changes that’s difficult to explain until you experience it.

This isn’t about rescuing anybody.

It isn’t about showing up with answers.

It’s about human beings meeting human beings.

Being willing to listen.
Being willing to learn.
Being willing to be vulnerable.
Being willing to let somebody else’s life touch yours.

It’s about our lives touching one another’s…

And all of us maybe walking away a little different than we arrived.

You know, we can debate about borders, laws, politics, Republicans versus Democrats, left and right…

But we all know somewhere underneath all of this, there must be, there has to be… our humanity.

What are our children gonna see, learn, touch and feel from the environments adults are creating?

We all know that understanding someone doesn’t mean agreeing with them. So what are we doing?

Maybe what all of this really means is having enough humility to listen to how they got there.

Don’t lose your humanity defending your certainty.

Let’s look at each other again as people.

Our history is not only something that we research or read about. It’s actually something that we are living through, or have lived through.

I’m not gonna tell you nor lecture you on what to think. That’s not my gig…

I will certainly ask you whether or not we are paying attention to what’s going on around us- and who we are becoming while all of this is going on around us.
