Master Artisan Helen & Allen Weichman of Groundhog Blues Pottery have been making "mugs, jugs and pugs" for over 50 years. They make functional dinnerware and animal sculptures, finding continual inspiration from the dogs, cats and parrots living with them.

Mark your calendars to meet Helen and Allen and see their work (and the work of more than 70 other artists) in person at the PGC Fall Fine Craft Fair Oct 24-25 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA!

Tickets are $10 at the door or $8 in advance (until midnight Oct 22!) at https://pacrafts.org/2026-fall-fcf/

In the meantime, you can see more of their work on their website: https://groundhogblues.com/

So this is the next stage on the miniatures I threw the other day. Actually, 4th stage? They've been footrimmed, handles put on, and not they have to be cleaned and bisque fired today. Throwing the pot is only the first stage of many. Meanwhile, Al has been throwing chowder bowls. These espresso cups are about 3"; they will shrink another 12% in the two firings.
