Oh 2021... You have been a whirlwind! The uncertainty, date changes, cancelations and last minute bookings! It has been a blast!!! I'm beyond grateful for the friends and families whom have asked me to make them cakes and treats this year. For the tags and shares, the photographers and Jodi at 3 Wishes. I couldn't have done any of this without you all! I truly love what I do and it allows me to be a mom and spend time with my kids so again thank you from the bottom of my heart! 💜
My cake season has come to an end and I'm looking forward to the many orders I have set for 2022!!! To kick off the new year with fun...I want to bless an Explosive Confections client with a gift. Sweet little Isla came in yesterday to celebrate her upcoming first birthday with an adorable cake smash! I LOVED this theme her mama chose because it's so fun to put a new theme together that I haven't done before! I have a few spots open for cake smashes before I go on maternity leave so message me ASAP if you'd like to start planning your theme!

Who doesn't love classic Winnie the Pooh?! Little Emberly usually gives me a pretty straight face, so I was so excited today when she was just the happiest smiley baby for her cake smash session today!
Ps. Adding the smash & splash tub to your session is ALWAYS a good idea, I mean look at those little rolls! 🤣

I got to spend M O N D A Y, yes, Monday, with these two lovebirds and their amazing group of friends + family!
Labor Day couldn't have been more perfect for John + Lindsey; the weather was perfection, the ceremony was pure goodness, and every single detail was amazing.
These two got married at Crooked River Weddings, stunning and one of my favorite venues, but to John + Lindsey it's much more special.
One day they both happened to be invited to a wedding at Crooked River, where they hit it off and became inseparable. John's brother said in his speech, I knew Lindsey was the one when she C H O S E to go shed hunting in Kansas with John B E F O R E going to Florida. Lol.
I can't wait to follow along on their journey of life together with their 3 sweet pups, and thanks to them, I now have a love for Monday weddings!😉❤

This little allstar was just that at his session...an ALLSTAR! Walker did so well getting his photo taken as was a super big fan of his cake! This baseball theme has been my most popular option for boys too and I'm still not sick of it yet, it's too cute!

Yesterday was wedding #2 in the summer of Steffke family weddings and boy was it one for the books! Logan and Jon have had some bumps in the road like many other couples, but their celebration seemed so much grander yesterday knowing that in just a short amount of time, these two are off to different states to complete their residency programs. Having your first years of marriage be long-distance isn't exactly ideal, but just look at the way these two look at each other...they're simply meant to be and no amount of miles can change that.
Despite a few pop-up storms hitting us exactly when we needed to be outside for portraits, the day was pretty much perfection. From the amazing venue which happens to be right next door to my studio (score!) to getting to jam with Jedi Mind Trip, there was an enormous amount of love and laughter in that room.
Logan and Jon, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special day. It is always an honor to walk alongside two special people such as yourselves on the happiest day of your lives.
