A huge thanks goes out to the community of Mount Pleasant for all of the support I have received in the last 4 years. As Mount Pleasant Breadery comes to a close, a new door has opened. I am moving to Detroit to work full time as a professional artisan bread baker. Shout outs to @graysmtpleasant and The Farmers Market at Island Park for providing me with venues. Also a special thank you goes to my regular and faithful clients (you know who you are!) May we all forever rejoice in the simple comfort bread has and always will provide us. Here's to new opportunities! #artisanbread

This holiday season we feature #stollen : An eggy yeast dough kneaded with rum-soaked fruit (cranberries, cherries, raisins, and dates) and a tunnel of sweet almond cream through the center of the loaf. The sprinkling of powdered sugar supposedly represents the baby Jesus swaddled in cloth, or a simpler perspective: snow. Price: $10

This loaf makes a great breakfast, dessert, or gift for all your holiday festivities. Pre-order yours today by emailing [email protected] or messaging on Facebook. Orders due by 4 pm, Monday 12/17. Pickup will be Wednesday 12/19 Gray's Furniture & Accessories .

For the past 8 days, cream mixed with a pinch of buttermilk has been sitting on my kitchen counter. Today I chilled it to proper temperature and let 'er rip in the food processor. Nothing was happening for several minutes and I was about to lose hope when all of a sudden there was a strange noise as the blades were met with the resistance of tiny solids. Within 10 seconds the buttermilk had totally separated, leaving a curdled mass of chilled fat which I then strained and kneaded with a pinch of salt. The result: tangy, nutty bliss.

If you didn't preorder, we will have sweet potato sourdough, cranberry multigrain, pumpkin cream cheese turnovers, and croissants available on a first come first serve basis. See you then!
