Yesterday‘s adventure took us to Parker City, the original stomping grounds of the Hoyt family. Our childhood home is being totally overhauled. The escape trees that were next to the house are now gone. So no more sneaking out for anyone, Hilary? Our basketball court has now become a large barn. Our name is still there and the pennies that are in each corner still exist showing that it was put in in 1979. Then it was off to Jerry’s dairy freeze jerrys_dairy_freezer so I could grab me a twinkle cone. I’m not sure what happened to the twinkle topping. It’s not the same as it used to be. It used to have a lot more of the crunchy element and not the sprinkles. Still good though. Hil got the all time favorite, Juicy Freeze. Happy to see the pretzels still on it.

I arrived home to Indiana this morning to prepare for my Mothers Celebration of Life this coming Saturday. Going through photos/memorabilia from mom and I found this Jem she kept. Yes, I was “somewhat” of a badass in sports. Our local newspaper reported on it and it was my best game ever.
My favorite part….
“Move aside “air” Jordan. now’s the time to retire Kareem. Get out while you can Magic, Lydia’s coming.” 😂😂
And no, I didn’t win player of the year, I think my friend Amy did.

Year of the Fire Horse, that was the theme for The Stevens Animal Sanctuary Gala this year. I was disappointed that I wasn’t able to attend because of another event but I was there in Spirit. I cannot tell you how much I love hand, painting horses. They are a part of my life and it brings me joy every time I’m able to create around them. One day I will put it to canvas so that I can keep it. Of course, it will have to be a portrait of my girls.
