***Reminder: we have special holiday hours this week!***

We are closed today (Tuesday), but will be open Wednesday and Thursday 10-6. Friday we will be open for order pickup from 10-1:00PM, and we will set out any extra pies (sometimes we miscount or orders don't get picked up) from 1-2:00. On Friday we will have the pre-paid order table out back again, for drive through pickup if you paid ahead on your order!

We are no longer accepting orders for this week, but we will have lots of extras on the shelf Wednesday!! We will have some extra, but less on Thursday, and Friday will bet the most sparse selection. So if you didn't get an order placed, Wednesday is your best bet for picking up what you're looking for!

Thank you, and stay warm and enjoy this beautiful solstice!! ❄️❤️🥧🍪

Looking for a unique gift idea?

We will have small and large holiday-themed candy trays on the shelf Friday and Saturday this week, and possibly some next week (we are no longer accepting orders for these, they are limited quantity).

For a gift that keeps on giving, considering signing someone up for our special pie of the month club!! We offer 3, 6, or full year subscriptions, and delivery is available, too! It has been a blast in our inaugural year... We've had so much positive feedback, and almost 100% subscription renewal!! Some flavors we surprised members with in 2021 were pina colada pie, cherry pecan pie, PB chocolate banana pie, cranberry meringue, and the blueberry Rhubarb which was so popular we started carrying it regularly in the store! For 2022 we will repeat some of the most popular varieties, but debut some brand new flavors as well! Pick up is the second Wednesday of every month (and we send a reminder text the Monday before).

If you have any questions, feel free to send us a message here and we'll happily answer! We can sign you up for the pie of the month club in store or over the phone at 812-372-PIES (7437).

'Twas the week before Christmas
And though nearly at limit,
Ahlemeyer is still accepting orders
So hurry and call- this minute! 😁😁

**************************

We are trying something a little different with our hours this Christmas Eve (12/24), keeping it orders only from 10- 1, then we will set out any extra goodies and open for walk-ins from 1-2.

Attached you can also find our holiday menu- we will accept orders for these items only for 12/22, 12/23, and 12/24. We are planning to have some of our regular menu items that are absent from the holiday menu (candies, sweet breads, other cookies) on the shelf this week, so you still have a chance to grab your favorites and freeze them for the holiday! We are hoping to continue accepting orders through this Friday (12/17), but if we exceed capacity before then we may have to stop early again! You can place an order by giving us a call at 812-372-PIES(7437) during our business hours (Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 10-6 or Saturday 10-2).

Thank you for being patient and understanding with us as we navigate this busy holiday season! ✌️💗🥧

***A few Thanksgiving updates and tips!***

1) We are starting today with very few extra pies on the shelf. We are hoping to have more on the shelf Tuesday morning, so if you don't see what you want on the shelf today try back again tomorrow! We will keep our phone system and Facebook updated as we sell out and restock, so stay tuned!

2) Exciting news!! Our delivery team the Bartholomew County Extension Homemakers has been amazing enough to agree to setting up a tent behind the bakery on Tuesday and Wednesday for a pre-paid order drive thru!!!!!!
SO if you prepaid for your order, you can pull around back to the canopy to pick up your order on Tuesday and Wednesday- you don't even have to come inside! Be sure to give them a tip to show your appreciation (the proceeds go towards their scholarship fund)!!

3) We had our first overnight shift last night to get started on our 1,000 pies that are on order Tuesday and Wednesday!!!! So please bare with us as well try to get through baking and managing the phone today (we are no longer accepting orders until December be 1, by the way)!

4) One more tip: if you have an order, we advise you *not* come first thing when we open. We WILL hold your order all day, and walk-ins who are trying to get pies off the shelf WILL be lined up when we open so your best bet is to give it a little cushion before you come in. You'll be glad you did! 😁

Thank you, and happy baking! 💗🥧✌️

*****ORDERS CLOSED*****

Yesterday officially put us over capacity on pie orders for next week (we received 90 separate orders in one day!!! 🤯)

If you did not get an order in and would still like pies, we recommend coming in as early and soon as possible! We will be baking as much as we can as fast as we can, but with only 3 of us bakers and a 36 pie capacity oven, we might not have much on the shelf for the next few days. We will be most stocked when we first open though, so the earlier the better!

Thank you so much for your support! We are looking forward to an exceptionally great season this year! Happy baking!

***Thanksgiving update***

Good morning!

Soon we will start baking around the clock in order to fulfill the ~1,000 pies we have on order (did we mention there's only 3 of us baking in an oven that holds 36 pies at MOST?!? 😳)! We are *very* near capacity, and there's a good chance we will have to stop taking orders at the end of today (Thursday)! So if you haven't yet, please call and reserve your Thanksgiving pies from us at 812-372-PIES(7437).

Unfortunately we can't guarantee we'll have much on the shelf for walk in's this year, so if you'd like to have a pie from us for Thanksgiving please call and place an order *today* (we'll be open from 10-6 and if we don't answer, keep trying- the phones have been ringing off the hook!)!

Thank you, and we look forward to baking our best for you this season! 💗🍂🥧

Unfortunately due to supply shortages the price of blackberries has over doubled! Because of this we've had to raise the price of the pie to $20. We are sorry for the inconvenience, we know it's a popular variety.

We try not to share too much that's not specifically baking related, but as active members of our community we feel the need to step up and speak out when we hear about a horrible injustice happening right here in Columbus, and this is one of those times...

Imagine what it’s like to go every single day without the basic necessities and care needed to live. Imagine going days without food, days without water. Watching the people around you eat, drink, and be comfortable while you suffer without. So hungry and thirsty that you will eat or drink anything you can find. You can’t get away, you're kept locked away behind a fence. Imagine living like that until one day someone finally comes and takes you away. They love you, give you attention, give you the food you need to live, the water you need to live... It looks like you'll finally get to live your life! ....Until they send you right back to the hell you came out of, to suffer some more. TWICE!!!! For at least two years!! You go live this tormented existence, holding on to the hope that someone will finally come and save you for good, until your body can take the suffering no more and gives away. Death overcomes you.

That is exactly what happened to Thor. A sweet, innocent dog, completely dependent and reliant on humans to take care of him and protect him, and he was failed. Right here in Columbus. Failed not just by the "human" that took him in (then proceeded to not feed him for over 2 years!), but by our WHOLE SYSTEM. Neighbors reported this tortured pup for TWO YEARS to Bartholomew County animal control. The dog was even taken away twice, and somehow RETURNED both times!!!!!! This skin and bone frame of a dog was given back twice, to the monster who would make him live in a junkyard backyard with no food, no water. The third time they couldn't have returned Thor if they wanted, bc it was too late... He passed away from chronic malnutrition. His body was too weak and too far gone to process food when he was removed for the final time.

Now (due to growing pressure from animal rights groups in the area) the prosecutor has *finally* decided to pick up and press charges (much too little too late)- for the "lack of care Thor received". They’re not even going to press charges for Thor's death!!! They are scheduled to bring this reported charge next week, before Thor’s necropsy report even comes back! His previous owner (the monster who watched as his totally dependent dog starved to death for 2 years), will be charged with misdemeanor charges that carry a one year jail sentence. AND they’re going to suspend the jail time!!! They are *CONSIDERING* a possible stipulation that he never owns another dog, but it's not even confirmed as part of the "punishment"!! A slap on the wrist, if that! This serves no justice for Thor! It shows our community (and others) that we don't have a huge problem with abuse, neglect, suffering... Even to the most extreme degree, the death of an animal?! It tells everyone that the punishment for this deplorable act in our community is a misdemeanor and small charge?! Disgusting!! We should be ashamed.

Why are we sharing this? Is there anything you can do to help?

Yes, we hope so.

We're asking that everyone call, email, or write the county prosecutor, Bill Nash. Our representative, Ryan Lauer. Our senator, Greg Walker (all their info is at the bottom of this post). Let them know you will not tolerate this being allowed in our community! Plead with them to consider a harder sentencing for such heinous acts. Let them know this monster MUST NEVER be allowed to have another animal in his care. Please make your voice heard, and help give a voice to Thor, who never had a say in all he endured. 😢

******************************************************
If you are as disturbed, outraged, and appalled by this as we are, please take action!! It only takes 5 minutes to make your voice heard!

When Brittany Kiel took over the family bakery, she wanted to make changes to reflect her own passions. Honoring tradition is also important to her, so she’s striking a delicate balance.
