Finally got by the fabulous Indian grocer we have in ! All I can say is WOW! I could get lost in their absolutely amazing selection of products! The owner, Shyam, was very helpful and knowledgeable and took me to the rose petals I'll be decorating our new cake - The Westwood- with....I missed them (of course) because they were on the top shelf 🤣 I can't wait to go back to just look around and get some top notch spices! Oh, and the smell was absolutely wonderful! Thank you for opening in West Asheville Radha! I can't wait to come back!!

Congratulations to Liz and Colin!

I called this wedding cake "A race against time." The fastest I've ever cut and placed florals due to it being 90 degrees and inside an old barn! Quaint and beautiful? Yes! Wedding cake friendly? No. Extra structural columns were a definite! Shay & Co.

***NEW DESSERT ALERT!** In the case Odd's Cafe today! Our new CARAMEL CAKE! Y'all asked and here ya go! It's soooo good and a truly southern tradition!
Also in case is what I call a Hostess chocolate cupcake cake! Double chocolate with our delicious vanilla Italian buttercream. If you liked Hostess cupcakes you'll LOVE this cake like I do!

This special custom cake is a vanilla sour cream cake filled with vanilla pastry cream. The recipient is a true warrior and recent cancer survivor. I recreated the picture above the cake that a friend of hers painted for her to look at while she was in the hospital for several months. The saying in small letters on top "No one carries it alone" was her mantra...and this special woman had a whole group of friends and family that rotated 24/7 by her bedside to make sure she was never alone! What a wonderful group of people! Several of them decided to come to Asheville to celebrate her being cancer free!!! 💖💖💖💖💖 A custom cake is never just a cake...it always has a story behind it and I just love that! It was an honor to make this for her.

Woo hoo! 81 years around the sun is certainly a birthday to celebrate! This was a fun cake to make! Hand placing all the gold dragees took a while but was totally worth it, don't you think? I can't wait to hear what the special birthday gal thought! 💖💖💖 I think this would make a great celebration Cake for any occasion!
