When contemporary art meets buttercream 🎨🧁
1500 mini cupcakes. 20 colors. And endless flavor combinations!

We recently got to work on a pretty special project for DIE WELT, celebrating the launch of their Damien Hirst Artist Edition.
The inspiration? Damienhirst’s iconic Spot Paintings (of not familiar with his work, swipe to slide 4 and you’ll probably recognize the inspiration!).
The challenge? Turning that colorful world into something edible.

So we created our very own palette of 20 buttercream colors, piped 1,500 mini cupcakes, and brought a little contemporary art into the world of cakes.

As an artist-led cake studio, projects like this make our hearts beat a little faster. Art, color, design, and cake, all coming together in one project? YES PLEASE.

A little behind-the-scenes from our last SAMPLE BOX DAY! 💘🍰🔪 What a day it was!!

This time, we decided to try something new with the layout of our sample boxes. The idea was to give you more cake, more room to explore each flavor, and a proper tasting experience.
The slices turned out GIGANTIC! Each flavor is now big enough to share between two people, meaning one box contains around 16 servings of cake. EIGHT different flavors to taste, compare, discuss, and loooove.

Because choosing your wedding cake flavor should be one of the FUN parts of wedding planning, right? And if you’re simply a cake lover, you’re more than welcome to join the party too🥄✨

It’s one of those gray, chilly October Sundays when all you want to do is stay in bed a little longer, have another coffee, and do absolutely nothing.
Meanwhile, I’m on my way to the studio to work on 1000 cupcakes for a VERY colorful project (think 20 buttercream colors kinds colorful 🫠🎨✨).

So while I head off to spend my Sunday surrounded by buttercream, I thought I’d leave a little color here to brighten up this very gray morning.. happy Sunday!
