At the cafe, there is so much more to learn than just making coffee… although that might still be everyone’s favourite part ☕️

Every day brings opportunities to build transferable life skills such as money handling, budgeting, safe food preparation, communication and customer service. These are skills that can support greater confidence and independence both in the workplace and at home.

Anna has learnt so many valuable skills during her time with us that she will be able to use for life — whether that leads to hospitality work in the future or simply feeling more capable and confident in her own home. We are so proud of how far she has come 💜 Good luck for your future Anna!

On Friday we said goodbye to Anna after 5 years with us at the cafe. Over that time she became a valued part of the team, built many friendships, and shared so many moments with us all.

We will miss her around the cafe and wish her all the very best for the future.

Our cafe offers a supportive environment where adults can build confidence, practical hospitality skills, social connection, and everyday living skills at their own pace. From customer service and barista training to cooking, shopping, money handling, and creating recipes they can use at home, every day is focused on enjoying the process and being comfortable to try new things.

Rhys was eager to make his family favourite Bara Brith loaf today 🍞

This delicious fruit loaf is perfect cold, but next level toasted with butter 😍

It was so popular there are only a couple of slices left, so we’ll definitely be asking him to make it again soon.

Today’s zucchini slice was made from scratch by Tom as part of building recipes he can confidently make at home for himself. 🥒🧀

He did a serious job preparing, baking and serving this must-try lunch favourite… and it won’t last long!

Kirstin is expanding her food knowledge and building a collection of recipes she can confidently recreate at home.

Today it was these gorgeous coconut cakes with rich chocolate ganache.

Great to see her taking on new and unfamiliar recipes and backing herself in the process.
