When you’re designing an entire home, whether it’s a new build or a full renovation, the place you live year round or the one you escape to, you want a team who has already thought three steps ahead of you.

We’ve spent more than a decade leading luxury homes from first sketch to final install. That experience shows up in the questions you didn’t know to ask. Where the stove should sit before the gas line is run. How wide a hallway needs to be for the way you’ll move through it. Which switch should be at the door and which belongs by the bed.

Those decisions get made early, which is why we bring your architect and builder to the table from the start. When everyone is working from the same plan, nothing gets decided twice.

Most words for a beautiful home are close cousins. Close enough to swap in conversation. Not close enough to build with.

You see the difference between decorated and designed years later. In a family room that still works when the kids are teenagers. In a bedroom that never needed a second round of furniture. In the way it still feels like yours every time you walk back in the door.

That gap is the whole job.

Yes, we’re designing a home you’ll love. At the same time, we’re coordinating with your builder and trades, setting and tracking the budget, drawing the cabinetry and lighting plans, ordering and inspecting every piece, and solving problems before they ever reach you.

When people think of interior designers, they often picture pretty pillows, expensive fabrics and rooms nobody’s allowed to sit in.

And yes, we loveeee to make things beautiful. (Swipe through our feed and see.)

But we also make it functional. We design kitchens you can pack lunchboxes in AND still want to show off when friends come over for a dinner party. Living rooms you can host the whole family in AND sink into with a movie on a Sunday night. Mudrooms that handle wet boots and hockey bags without looking like a locker room. Bedrooms that feel like a boutique hotel but still have a spot for your laundry basket.

Every choice has to earn its place. The fabric that looks gorgeous AND survives the dog. The island with enough seating for homework and happy hour. Storage built exactly where the mess tends to pile up.

And this doesn’t stop at your primary home either. A vacation home needs to be built for a full house: sandy feet, wet towels, a dozen guests and very little upkeep. It should feel special the second you walk in and be easy to close up at the end of the season.

There’s something about walking into a home that just feels right the second the door opens.

Sometimes it’s the wallpaper. Sometimes the light. Sometimes you couldn’t say what it is, you just want to stay.

First impressions matter, and as interior designers, we think about that a lot when we design an entry as part of your whole home.

It’s the first thing your guests see, and the first thing you see when you get home.

It is extra sad when summer is ending when you got to enjoy it like this.

Long dinners at the patio table. Mornings on the screened porch with coffee and a view of the water. Evenings around the fire in the courtyard long after the sun went down.

For this Catawba home, we treated the outdoor spaces like real rooms, with the same attention to comfort, pattern and layout as anything inside. The goal was a summer spent out here, not just passing through.

This week may be the official last day of summer... and if you know us, you know we’re already planning for next year. If you have a vacation home, we should be talking now about what it will look like by Memorial Day.

Let’s have an honest conversation about what it actually costs to remodel your kitchen.

Because we’ve seen it time and time again here on the ‘gram or our favorite HGTV shows.

Sharing those $75,000 kitchen projects, and now everyone has that number in their head.

But here’s what you’re not considering:
→ the square footage of your space
→ full gut remodel versus layout adjustments
→ custom cabinetry versus semi-custom cabinetry
→ moving electrical or plumbing
→ finishing levels
→ licensed trades versus DIY
→ the age and wear of your walls, electrical, plumbing, etc.

A more realistic mid-size kitchen remodel will look like $120,000 – $300,000+ depending on the level of design, construction, and renovation your space needs.
