spring dump 🌱🥖🍓

the last few weeks have been a flurry of dough days, cart weekends, dirty boots, greenhouse mornings and trying to remember the last time either of us had time to shower... there’s a very rare photo of us actually put together — no. 12 — from the morning at .

🥬🫜 we started harvesting the first flowers from bradley, plus radishes, greens + bok choy, before the heat sends the cold hardy veg bolting. we got all of the rows prepped: Michael stepped into his role as professional dirt spreader and we got ALL of the steaming compost in place (see no. 13) — s/o to for always coming through fast with the BEST compost around!!

i finally got the seedlings hardened off and they’re ready for the ground! most of our seeds come from and our seed starter mix is from .soil (the go-to in CLE).

inside, michael’s been turning out some of our favorite flavors yet: strawberry poppy seed, 🧅🧀 caramelized onion + cheddar, and piles upon piles of his signature sourdough. huge thanks to for keeping us stocked with fresh, locally-sourced flour! 🫶🏻

and last but not least… Martha Stewart’s head gardener replied to one of my comments (no. 14) and i damn near fainted… iykyk.

that’s a wrap on early spring around here. now it’s time to plant plant plant and gear up for a very full summer ahead!

can you tell we are in the THICK of it rn!? 😂🫠

this spring has been a wild one—building the gardens from scratch while Michael’s winging it in the kitchen. it’s a little scrappy, a little sleepy, but we’re getting there… slowly but surely, and with a lot of flour + dirt!!

we cannot wait for the days when things feel a bit more like a rhythm—and we’re just hanging at the cart with you all!

anyways… georgie’s OPEN today from 12–5PM with lots of bread + michael’s latest 🫐 sourdough. she ended up being a good one (see the last slide).

🫶🏻🍞 and last but NOT least—help us whip up a special sourdough flavor for mother’s day weekend.

we’re torn between:
• strawberry poppy seed 🍓
• caramelized onion & cheddar 🧅🧀

👇🏻which flavor should michael try next!?

the last of the 🌷 and michael’s NEW cinnamon 🌀 sourdough hit the cart this morning!

we’ve got pre-orders ready, extras for anyone who wanders by, and stems to build your own bundle…

the cart’s OPEN now through around 5ish — but you know we usually tend to stay out there a little longer. 🙃

🌅🌷from crate chaos → our best tulip crop yet! all pulled at sunset…

we used to grow tulips in crates, which meant the second they popped, we were scrambling to move them (which required v heavy lifting) or build an entire deer-proof setup!

this year we simplified everything: ONE raised bed, chicken wire on the bottom AND the top, and once they started sprouting? we replaced the wire (on top) with a simple hoop + deer netting situation.

way less work, way less stress... and our best tulip crop yet!

♡ thank you to everyone who made this🌷harvest so special!! we loved watching each bundle leave the cart and find its way into your homes!

We almost didn’t have any bread this weekend...

Birthday brownies + a preheated oven = Michael’s starter destroyed. Except for one small forgotten jar of it that saved us all!

Michael amped it back up overnight, and was able to deliver on all of the pre-orders and then some...

Lessons learned: always keep back-up starter ready and don’t let Amanda use the oven ever again!

♥ Thanks to everyone for showing up this weekend! Here’s to smoother cart days ahead!

Now that we’ve finally recuperated from the season and the move, it felt like the perfect time for a little “getting to know ya!”

👋🏻 We’re Michael + Amanda!

👨🏻‍🍳 Michael’s the baker, dad, farm-hand.
👩🏻‍🌾 I’m the flower farmer, mom, hype-woman.

By day, I work in legal PR and Michael in law. By evening and on-weekends, we run Georgie — our honor-system bread & flower cart.

We’re chasing the simple, community-first feeling we grew up with: good neighbors, good food, honest work!

We hope to go ALL-IN one day… because corporate life is really cramping our style!!!

In the meantime, we are dedicating all our “free” time to this micro-bakery, suburban flower farming dream.

Big plans for 2026: an ordering system, some cart upgrades, and bringing more of that analog, backyard-90s energy to our community.

Today marks the last official cart day of 2025!!!

Georgie is stocked one last time with all the goods: Michael’s specialty rye sourdough, his signature plain sourdough, milk bread + whole-wheat everything-seasoned sandwich bread...

✿ Dried apples and 🍊 for garlands or simmer pots,
✿ Plus FREE homemade apple cider, made w/ 🍎, to send off the season right.

As much as we’ll miss the heck out of cart days, it’s time to turn inward. To finish unpacking those last few boxes, dream up next season’s plans, and smooth out the little kinks we met along the way.

We truly can’t thank you enough for showing up — for your kind words, your encouragement, and your support. This year has been such a transformative one, and we’re heading into the next feeling more confident, grateful, and inspired than ever.

♥ Thank you, cart friends!
