Our bread shelves have been busy again today and we are already almost sold out, with only a couple of loaves left.

Honestly, thank you. The response to our bread program has been incredible. We are baking more every week while still keeping everything small-batch, naturally fermented, and handcrafted.

If you’ve stopped by and missed your favorite bread, online ordering is now the easiest way to make sure it’s waiting for you:

• Choose your breads
• Choose your pickup day
• We bake them fresh for you that morning

Because our breads are a multi-day process, bread orders are placed one week ahead.

That means:
Order this week → Pick up next Thursday, Friday, or Saturday.

We’re also continuing to add new breads and flavors every week, so keep the ideas coming. One of the most requested lately has been an olive sourdough inspired by a tapenade with mixed olives, herbs, and cheese — and honestly, that sounds pretty incredible to us too.

Rye Sourdough is back tomorrow — and every Saturday!

This is not made with store-bought rye flour. Our Jewish Rye is made with 50% fresh-milled organic rye berries, giving the bread the rich flavor and texture real rye bread is known for.

(Using 100% fresh-milled rye would create a much denser, darker loaf more similar to traditional pumpernickel.)

Fresh milling the entire rye berry brings out an incredible flavor that pairs perfectly with pastrami, corned beef, sharp mustard, and all your deli favorites.

The sourdough lineup this morning is loaded up:

• Roasted Garlic & Rosemary

These are available while they last today.

We have also updated our online ordering system to allow you to preorder your favorite bread flavors for pickup the following week. We take orders this week and bake for your selected pickup date next week to guarantee your selection.

Our breads are a true three-day process, and because we are small-batch bakers, we want your bread fresh from the oven — not baked on Thursday and held until Saturday. Preordering allows us to plan our bake schedule properly while making sure you get the breads you actually want before they sell out.

Saturday specialty additions, like Rye Sourdough, will still rotate separately.

Good Morning Sweet Town!

Just because we stepped away from a made-to-order menu doesn’t mean we stopped feeding people real food for breakfast and lunch. Quite the opposite.

Every week, we fill the shop with handcrafted savory foods made the same way we bake everything else—from scratch, with real ingredients, and no shortcuts.

Today’s lineup includes:

• Gluten-free quiche with our baked potato crust
• Handheld chicken pot pies wrapped in buttery, flaky pie dough
• French toast strata made with cream cheese and real maple syrup
• Turkey and ham sandwiches on our fresh-milled grain sandwich bread
• Veggie focaccia pizza slices
• Chicken salad on a croissant or served Waldorf-style in a fresh tomato

And of course… bagels, sourdoughs, pastries, and our usual suspects are filling the cases too.

We may not have a traditional lunch counter anymore, but there’s still plenty waiting for you here.

Good Morning Sweet Town!

The ovens have been busy.

Our chicken pot pie hand pies are back this morning with that buttery, flaky pie dough wrapped around creamy chicken pot pie filling made completely from scratch. These have been disappearing fast lately, so we doubled up today.

We also have four different sourdoughs fresh from the oven:

• 100% Fresh-Milled Grain
• Jalapeño Cheddar
• Four-Cheese

Plus fresh bagels, quiche, veggie focaccia pizza slices, pavlova, pastries, sandwich loaves, and plenty more filling the cases this morning.

Farm to Cake is continuing to grow our bread program, and we are looking for the right person to train alongside us.

We now have the need for a dedicated bread baker trainee to join our production team.

This is a trainee position in bread baking, but it is not an entry-level kitchen position. We are looking for someone with restaurant kitchen experience who already understands pace, timing, multitasking, and the expectations of a production kitchen—and wants to build serious skills in artisan bread baking.

Bread experience is preferred, but not required.

At Farm to Cake, we make breads the old-fashioned way:
• Fresh-milled grains
• Naturally fermented doughs
• Multi-day sourdough processes
• Traditional boiled bagels
• Scratch-made production from start to finish

This is hands-on production work where timing, organization, consistency, and awareness matter every single day.

What you’ll be doing:
• Mixing, scaling, shaping, proofing, and baking breads and bagels
• Working with fresh-milled grains and long-fermented doughs
• Following formulas using weights and baker’s percentages
• Managing multiple doughs and production timelines at once
• Maintaining a clean, organized, food-safe production space
• Helping support the growth of our handcrafted bread and real food program

We are looking for someone who:
• Thinks ahead and works with purpose
• Can multitask while staying organized
• Handles pressure well
• Takes pride in clean work habits and food safety
• Wants to seriously learn the craft and grow with us

The right person will learn a tremendous amount here. We are not a typical bakery. We care deeply about process, quality, and making real food from scratch. More importantly, you’ll be joining a tight-knit, fiercely supportive crew that has been working side-by-side for 7 years and longer. We take care of our own, and we are looking for someone who wants to plant roots, find a permanent work home, and become part of our bakery family.

Compensation & Benefits:
• Compensation begins at a skilled but still trainee rate while you learn our specific artisan methods. As you transition to independent work and take on more responsibility in the bread program, your pay will scale directly with your acquired skills, hustle, and daily contribution to the team.
