If you're in a messy season right now, this is your reminder that simple moments still matter ❤️

What's one thing in your home lately that feels small... but meaningful?

Sourdough doesn’t care that you’re in a hurry.

It won’t rise faster because you’re impatient.
It won’t ferment because you checked it 47 times.
It won’t magically become bread because you stared at it aggressively, trust me I’ve tried.

It teaches patience.
Consistency.
And that some of the best things take time.

Funny enough, those lessons work pretty well outside the kitchen too.

What’s something you’ve learned from sourdough besides how to bake?

Can we talk about how disappointing most store-bought bagels have become?

They’re either tiny.

Or dry.

Or somehow both.

A good sourdough bagel should be chewy, flavorful, satisfying, and capable of holding an unreasonable amount of cream cheese.

I’ve been working behind the scenes and bagels may be making another appearance very soon.

If bagels came back next week, what flavor would you want to see first?

One of the most common things I see from new sourdough bakers:

“I think I killed my starter.”

Friend, I’ve been there.

You probably didn’t.

Starters are surprisingly resilient little things.

They can look sad.
They can smell weird.
They can get neglected in the back of the fridge.

And most of the time?

A few feedings later they’re back to living their best life.

Sourdough has taught me that not everything needs to be perfect to be successful.

Sometimes things just need a little time and attention.

(Frankly, that’s true for starters, gardens, and moms.)

Have you ever named your starter?

If so, tell me its name below. I need to know how weird we're all willing to get.

Father’s Day is approaching, and I think we all know what the dads really want.

They want a thick slice of warm Jalapeño Cheddar Sourdough loaded with butter.

And good news...

I’m bringing back Jalapeño Cheddar Boules as a Father’s Day special.

Sharp cheddar.
Spicy jalapeños.
Golden crust.
Big flavor.

Honestly, this loaf has developed a bit of a fan club around here.

Tag the dad in your life who would absolutely destroy an entire loaf of Jalapeño Cheddar Bread.

🍪 Giant Cookies:

You say “I’ll just have one bite” and then suddenly the cookie disappeared.

Curious.

Which cookie is your favorite?

One of the reasons I fell in love with sourdough wasn’t just the taste…although it is delicious!

It was the simplicity.

Flour. Water. Salt. Time.

Long fermentation helps break down the gluten and phytic acid, which is why many people find sourdough easier to digest than conventional bread.

Plus, there’s something deeply comforting about slowing down enough to make food the old-fashioned way.

No weird ingredients.
No shelf-life science experiment bread.
Just real food made by hand.

How did you discover sourdough?
Was it:
❤️ Health reasons
❤️ Better flavor
❤️ Learning a new skill
❤️ The COVID starter craze
❤️ Someone shared a loaf with you

✨ MENU DROP ✨
The starter is getting ready, the espresso boule will be caffeinated, and my kitchen is getting ready for a flour bomb to go off… so naturally, it’s time for this week’s menu.

This week’s lineup includes:
🍞 Classic Boules
☕ Double Chocolate Espresso Boules
🥪 Sandwich Loaves
🍕 Pizza Crusts
🍪 Giant Cookies (because apparently we don’t believe in small cookies around here)

Honestly, the Double Chocolate Espresso Boule may be the emotional support loaf of the summer.

Everything is long-fermented sourdough made with simple ingredients and a whole lot of “Lord give me strength” energy.

Porch pickup is THURSDAY in Watertown.

Use the link above or comment/message and I’ll send you the link to order. Otherwise I might accidentally eat half the menu myself.

3 controversial opinions that have gotten me side-eyed as a sourdough baker 👇😂

1. Not every loaf needs fancy scoring. Sometimes rustic bread tastes better anyway.

2. Sourdough is health food… until I turn it into a butter-loaded cinnamon roll situation.

3. Measuring garlic with your heart is the only correct way to cook.

Your turn 👀
Drop your most controversial kitchen or sourdough opinion below. Bonus points if it starts arguments at family gatherings 😂👇
