Welcome to Carissa's Cake Artistry. This page is dedicated to cakes and desserts that I have created as well as creating opportunities to make your event special! A little about me, my name is Carissa Danahy (recently married and formerly Carissa Harris) and I'm originally from Virginia Beach. I started an interest in cakes and desserts when I got my first job in an Ice Cream shop which really too

k off my excitement for cake decorating. After many learning experiences I found that Baking and Pastry was the career for me and after working at The Custom Cake Shoppe, I knew I was home in the kitchen. In 2013, I became a student at Johnson and Wales and am currently residing in Charlotte. As to why my husband calls my cake artistry witchcraft; this has always been the description he has given to my work and i quote " You throw things in to a mixer, slide it into an oven and it comes out transformed into these insane creations. It has to be magic."

I know it's been a minute since I have posted, So I would like to reintroduce myself.

My name is Carissa and I am a Certified Pastry Chef and Cake Artist. As a Virginia Beach Native, I graduated from Johnson and Wales University and I've been serving Hampton Roads for many years.

My passion is the delicate balance of flavors and textures with details to draw the eye, all while enriching your experience and creating treasured memories. I have always been inspired by and aspired to be to the level of Ron Ben Israel, Nicholas Lodge and Amaury Guichon.

This means thoughtful and complex flavor pairings, unique recipes and designs, and awe-inspiring techniques that leave a party speechless as they experience a lovingly made work of art from handmade sugar flowers or custom toppers on unique flavored cakes to custom cookies, flavorful macarons and petti fours, and pastries. Flavor, experience and detail are my priority.
