It was an absolute pleasure to create this one of a kind 90th birthday cake. The top tier is lemon cake with lemon curd and vanilla swiss meringue buttercream where the bottom is almond cake with vanilla swiss meringue buttercream. Wanted to share that this week will be the last chance to grab a lemon meringue pie unless specifically requested and I have 3 tart boxes left that are available for Thursday. Next month will be more focus on pastries starting with Napoleons each for the week of the 10th. If you are interested please let me know now since they will be in limited supply. Thank you everyone for your love and support these past couple of weeks. I am excited to introduce you to some of the tart flavors that have been rocking this weekend. Our first is a passion fruit curd with a ruby chocolate mousse and shortbread crust, our second is an orange blossom jelly and pistachio accented with meringue and fresh chops pistachios on a shortbread crust, our third is a smooth lemon curd with candy ginger topped with toasted meringue on a shortbread crust and our final tart is a turtle tart smooth sweet caramel with a whipped ganache and toasted pecans on a shortbread crust. This four pack is available for a limited time and it has been more than a pleasure to tap into such creative flavors. Please keep an eye out as I will be bringing out more pastry desserts over the summer.

This cake is one for the books. This weekend was the first annual Cakes for a Cure in Hampton roads for the Alzheimer's foundation sponsored by the Princess Anne Royal Arch Masons chapter. It was an absolute treat to meet so many talented bakers and place 2nd professionally. The theme was little Golden books and I chose "The county mouse and the city mouse." The flavor is Blackberry Bliss: my blackberry wine cake made with Dragonfly farm and winery: Blackberry bewitched with toasted almonds, chocolate ganache, and vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream. Techniques included sculpting the mice and cheese with Satin ice modeling chocolate, hand painting the hat box dresses and trim with Sweet sticks edible art paint, flexi fabric bow, wafer paper feathers and sculpting and covering the cake with Satin Ice fondant. The basket was hand woven and airbrushed. Lot of labor and love went into this and so excited to see them raise so much money.

Happy Sweet 16 Samantha. It was more than a pleasure to meet you and to make this wonderful cake for you. You're definitely your mama's girl. This wonderful cake features a french vanilla bottom tier with a vanilla cinnamon simple syrup soak, top tier is a triple chocolate with whipped ganache, all covered in a vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream. 16 couldn't be sweeter.

Happy birthday to a wonderful momma. Something sweet and simple to celebrate after years of not being home to bake your cakes. Momma's birthday cakes are of course where all my cake artist adventures begun. Here's to you. Cupcakes are a triple chocolate cake with whipped ganache frosting. The bundt is a triple chocolate cake filled with scratch made lemon curd, frosted in a whipped vanilla marscapone frosting finished with whipped chocolate ganache and hand piped chocolate filigree.
