We're taking orders for pickups in South Park and NW Charlotte up until Dec. 9, (pickups will be Dec. 15 and 20th - and we also ship!) We'd love to help sweeten your holidays with our Eastern European pastries and cookies.

Our Story

The original family baker, Elizabeth Slagle, created Papa’s original recipes the right way, going from teaspoons to pounds. Her son and grandson, Paul and Richard Razo, took Elizabeth’s recipes and founded Richard’s Bakery in Youngstown, Ohio in 1984. The passion they both poured into crafting artisan foods from scratch was recognized when they received the key to the city as the Distinguished Business Owner of the Year.

Although Richard’s Bakery was sold after more than 20 years in business, Rick loves sharing his family recipes with people too much to not be baking. So Rick founded Papa’s Scratch Bakery with the younger family bakers, bringing the Old World recipes of a Steel town to Charlotte.
