We are a home bakery, that means everything is baked out of our home. Every order is made to order and picked up at a time that works for both the baker and the customer. We are closed on Sundays. Earliest pickup is 7 AM, latest pick up is 5:15. If you need additional time, or need to pick up earlier, just ask. We are very accommodating. We accept Cash, Check, Credit Cards, Venmo, & Paypal. We keep a large variety of ingredients on hand for everything on our menu, so if you want a different ingredient or flavor, we can most likely accommodate. ABOUT BANTA BAKER: We are an at home bakery in Valparaiso. We do NOT have a storefront (yet). Everything is made fresh to order. Our lead up time is about 1 day because most orders proof overnight and are baked in the morning. Address for pickup is given at time of order.

Always making fresh sourdough bagels. Not a week goes by there's not at least a dozen made. Big seller? Red Pepper Everything Cheddar. Our everything seasoning blend with the addition of red pepper flakes topped with cheddar cheese. A must with cream cheese.

Our other big seller? No surprise, just a plain bagel!

All our sourdough bagels are hand rolled, slow proofed overnight, made with real barley malt syrup and boiled.

Sold by the Half Doz. 6 for $12.

Lemon Shortbread, probably our best seller against the Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies. The reason? Butter & Lemon and not much else.

These delicious, beautiful cookies are stamped with an eye catching citrus pattern, glazed with lemon juice and zest and packed with buttery lemon flavor. Each batch uses a whole lemon. Sweet and fresh, a delightful experience with each bite.

New Month, New Stuff | The Return of Some Pies

It's a new month and that means a new menu items, or in this case, some old ones. Due to recent law changes, we can sell some temperature sensitive foods, in this case, our Hoosier Sugar Cream Pie, Peanut Butter Pie & Banoffee Pie.

Never had a Hoosier Sugar Cream Pie? Are you even a Hoosier if you hadn't? This classic pie has a custardy vanilla filling, topped with just a pinch of nutmeg, and we serve ours in a graham cracker crust. It is so simple yet so delicious.

Craving something with peanut butter? Our Peanut Butter Pie has a peanut butter, cream cheese, whipped topping filling, with chocolate flakes on top, served in a chocolate graham cracker crust.

And finally, the greatest British invention ever, the Banoffee Pie (that's Banana + Toffee). A layer of sticky toffee filling, covered in sliced fresh bananas, covered in whipped cream, topped with flaked chocolate, all in a graham cracker crust. Possibly the best pie flavor in the world.
