Cherry Street Bread is a sourdough-focused microbakery based in Stillwater, MN. We use only organic grains and locally grown/milled grains whenever possible.

Just a friendly reminder that the bakery is closed this week! I'll be chaperoning fourth graders on a three-day trip to Osprey Wilds.

I'll be back next week, with pre-ordering open at 9AM on Sunday, August 11th. And because of MEA, pick up will be Wednesday instead of Thursday.

Working our way through a fun little project...

We have three black walnut trees on our block and, similar to our acorn pancake project, wondered what we could do with them.

Cue black walnut bitters. (We love a good old fashioned.)

So far we've dried walnut tree leaves and removed the outer hulls of the walnuts. Now we're curing the nuts in our dehydrator for a few days.

📣 French Onion soup sourdough is BACK!! 🧀 🧅 🌿

I'm so excited to be making this one again. Sweet caramelized onions, nutty Gruyere, and fresh thyme leaves folded into our rustic sourdough. Perfection.

So happy to have connected with another amazing local cottage bakery, Olive Street Cookie Co.. This chocolate chip cookie is unbelievably delish. Topped with smoky flaked salt? Come on! I'm all in.

🍒 Dried Cherry and Toasted Hazelnut is this week's special! 🍒

It is perfect for morning toast, paired with squash soup, or a way to upgrade your turkey sandwich.

Also, a few menu updates:
➡️ Cinnamon raisin and cranberry wild rice are now on rotation. This week is cinnamon raisin, next week cranberry wild rice, and so on.
➡️ Our signature rustic sourdough is now available as a pan loaf (with the option to have it sliced).

The culmination of a fun experiment with our neighbors' kiddos: acorn pancakes!

They collected the nuts, we processed them into flour (which takes about a week, just FYI), and then made a homemade pancake mix to share.

The results? Most adults enjoyed them and the kids thought we were trying to poison them. 🤣
