When we make Challah we “separate” a piece of the dough and offer it as a sacrifice to make it a blessing for those who eat it.

“Baruch ata Adonai Eloheinu Melech haolam, asher kidshanu b'mitzvotav v'tzivanu l'hafrish challah”

n: "Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments and commanded us to separate challah."

DEUX Bakery on Reddick Street off Milpas in Santa Barbara is a hidden gym. Come check out all of their delicious pastries and artisan bread, in my opinion, one of the best in the region. They’re also generous enough to host Dough By Doug, where you can get Challah, Rugelach, Rye bread and today Hamantaschen.

18 pounds 6 foot five braid serpentine Challah we call Challahconda! I thought I saved it three times speed, but you could hit the three dots on the bottom of the video and change the speed if you want.

Come and try all the fabulous things. My favorites are the multigrain bread, the brand muffins, the baguettes and the croissants but everything else is amazing.
