From time to time, the Linea team enjoys talking about the health benefits associated with drinking coffee Especially, when it comes to discussing the sweetness-forward, certified organic coffees and award-winning espresso we roast and serve.

Health benefits of coffee consumption

One notable study from Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Harvard Health Planning cites the following:

Moderate coffee consumption was associated with longer life expectancy.

Both regular coffee and decaf showed similar health associations.
Researchers observed lower rates of cardiovascular disease and Type 2 diabetes among coffee drinkers.
Many benefits may come from naturally occurring antioxidant compounds and polyphenols found in coffee.
Coffee is one of the richest sources of antioxidants in the modern diet.

Big treat having Angel and Angelica from the Belco team visit the roastery.

Great conversations, cupping the Santa María Gesha from Colombia sourced through Belco, which goes beyond its USDA Organic certification with Bird Friendly, Rainforest Alliance, EU Organic, and Con Manos de Mujer.

Ana Mildred Muñoz Hernández founded Grupo Santa María in Santa Maria, Aratoca, Santander, Colombia in 2017, and has spent the years since empowering local women in the production of specialty organic coffee.

As a Regenerative Organic Certified roaster and proud B Corp, we’re committed to sourcing coffees that go beyond organic, supporting soil health, fair labor, and a better future for coffee.

Join Linea in celebrating spring’s arrival with Hippie Hill. This new seasonal blend, features two of our favorite regenerative organic coffees, an enchantingly sweet gem from India’s Araku Valley growers and an elegantly structured Guatemalan standout from Lake Atitlan’s award winning Finca Patzibir.

Hippie Hill is a small grass-covered hill located in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park, nestled between the Conservatory of Flowers and Haight Street. During San Francisco’s 1967 Summer of Love gatherings, Hippie Hill hosted an ongoing series of free concerts, featuring Janis Joplin, the Grateful Dead Jefferson Airplane, George Harrison and many more. Its close proximity to Haight Street made it a favorite gathering spot for a burgeoning counter-culture movement.

Hippie Hill continues to be a beloved rallying spot for absorbing Golden Gate Park’s majestic beauty and intoxicating vibe. Hippie Hill is also a renowned spot to enjoy ma*****na and also for its annual 420 festivities. We hope you’ll find this coffee almost as mind-expanding as an afternoon on Hippie Hill!

Ethiopia Natural Espresso
We’re pleased to have a new offering from our friend Tesfaye Bekele, whose work at Suke Quto Farm in Ethiopia’s Guji region continues to shape coffees we return to year after year.

When wildfires swept through Guji, Tesfaye didn’t just replant coffee. He restored native forests and doubled down on investing in his community’s future. His regenerative approach to farming is in line with our mission: growing coffee that’s good for people and the planet.

Ethiopia is home to around 10,000 unique coffee varieties. That kind of diversity is what makes Suke Quto so exciting to serve and why we keep coming back to it.

Why So Much Suke?
You might be wondering what’s the story behind all the Suke Quto coffees at Linea lately?

Since our earliest days (2013), we’ve believed in building genuine partnerships with coffee producers who care about the earth and their communities as much as we do. That’s why our connection with Tesfaye Bekele and the Suke Quto Farm in Ethiopia’s Guji region runs so deep.
Linea founder Andrew Barnett was an early supporter of Tesfaye’s work, and their partnership dates back to 2008, when Trabocca launched Operation Cherry Red (OCR) to reward farmers for meticulously hand-selecting only the ripest cherries.

When wildfires swept through Guji, Tesfaye didn’t just replant coffee. He restored native forests and doubled down on investing in his community’s future. His regenerative approach to farming is perfectly in line with our mission: growing coffee that’s good for people and the planet.

Celebrating Black History Month: Alice Coltrane Turiyasangitananda.

Her music and spiritual practice helped shape a profound chapter in modern jazz, and her influence continues to resonate today. Alice’s interest in gospel, classical, and jazz led to the creation of her own innovative style. As a solo recording artist, her talents expressed more fully, revealing her depth on piano, organ, and harp.

She took a leading role in jazz as a spiritual leader, expanding the language of the music in her own way.

If you get a chance, spend some time with Alice Coltrane Turiyasangitananda, a film narrated by Turyia Coltrane and based on Britt Robson’s article “Universal Consciousness: The Spiritual Awakening of Alice Coltrane.”
