Silvia Herrera’s Gesha is back
You may recognize the name Silvia Carolina Herrera Hernandez. She’s one of our longstanding partners at Linea, an inspirational farmer across the coffee world and a two-time Mexico Cup of Excellence Presidential Award winner.

Gesha is one of the most prized coffee varieties in the world: notoriously difficult to grow, low-yielding, slow to mature, and demanding of altitude and care. The variety arrived in Oaxaca, Chiapas, and Veracruz back in 1980, and in recent years, Mexican Geshas have started earning the recognition, and the scores, to match. Done right, it’s one of a kind, delicately floral, and complex, in a way few other coffees can match.

Silvia’s two Cup of Excellence wins have been for her Gesha lots. So if you’ve been waiting for the right moment to try a true Gesha, this is it.

Brazil FAF Felipe’s Reserve

We’re so excited to introduce Brazil FAF Felipe’s Reserve, the latest coffee from Felipe Croce of Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza (FAF). FAF is a longtime friend of Linea and producer of exquisite coffees. Expect a creamy mouthfeel with sweet notes of dulce de leche, nougat, vanilla, and cocoa on the finish.

The farm’s name translates from Portuguese to “Environmental Fortress Farm,” and this is exactly what the Croce family has cultivated. They were early pioneers of organic farming, a path Silvia Barretto committed to when she inherited the farm in 2001—growing not just coffee, but a wide range of fruits, vegetables, and trees.

Today, Silvia’s son Felipe manages the coffee side of the farm, guided by a core practice: agroforestry. It’s a method with deep roots in South American culture, focused on building strong, nutrient-rich soil by working with the land’s natural cycles rather than against them– regenerative principles in action. As Felipe puts it, “the future is ancestral.”

This knowledge is designed to be shared, not kept. Through their FAF Future Farmers program, they support neighboring farmers in environmental practices, while their Bio-Farm produces affordable, natural fertilizer for the farming community in the region.

Our latest coffee comes from a 10-hectare, certified organic plot where these practices are in full effect. Here, over 1,000 trees—a mix of coffee and other species—feed and nourish the soil naturally. For Felipe, the goal isn’t just great coffee: it’s healthy soil that makes healthy plants, and healthy plants that make healthy people

Regenerative. Biodynamic. You may see these words on labels at the store, and you’ll definitely see them on our coffee bags. Organic certification is a baseline for both, and working in harmony with nature is at the very heart of each. With nutrient-rich soil and careful cultivation comes an exquisitely delicious cup—and a more nourished planet in return.

July is an exciting time of year, when new-harvest Mexican coffees start to arrive at our San Francisco Roastery. We are thrilled to share a brand new lot from world-renowned Mexican producer Silvia Carolina Herrera Hernandez. Grown in the highlands of Chiapas and expertly picked and dried, this Organic Washed Tupi brings sweet notes of mandarin orange and caramel.

Silvia grew up watching her father grow coffee. Today, she runs the family farm in Nuevo San Luis, Ocozocoautla de Espinosa, bringing state-of-the-art farming and organic practices to the region.

Silvia is world-renowned for her elegantly crafted, exquisitely delicious coffees. A two-time Mexico Cup of Excellence Presidential Award winner, she’s also a leading voice for climate action. Silvia recently addressed the UK Parliament’s International Development Committee on funding support for smallholder farmers and their workers. Silvia’s championing of long-term investment in sustainable, climate-adapted farms and biodiversity is part of why we’re so enamored with her coffee and all she achieves.

2026 Linea Caffe Good Food Award
Thrilled to share that Linea’s roast of Organic Ethiopia Gotiti Reserve was selected for a 2026 Good Food Award, to be awarded June 27 at the Metropolitan Pavillion in New York City! This is Linea’s fourth Good Food Award.

Many thanks to the entire Linea Caffe team, the visionary coffee farmers of Ethiopia’s Yirgacheffe region, and everyone involved with this project. Organic Ethiopia Gotiti Reserve showcases the meticulous craftsmanship of the Yirgacheffe region’s environmentally friendly and quality-driven farmers and is an exquisite representation of the sweet, joyful flavor profile this particular region is known for.

“Organic Ethiopia Gotiti Reserve is one of the sweetest and most extraordinarily balanced coffees I’ve ever tasted,” says Andrew Barnett. “It’s a dreamy mash-up of fruit flavors—peach, mango, and sweet lime. It has incredible sweetness and is extremely approachable. There is so much I love about this coffee.”

Created in 2011, the Good Food Awards is an annual competition celebrating the producers and farmers of American craft foods that are “tasty, authentic, and responsibly produced.” Founder Sarah Weiner envisioned the Awards as the artisan food equivalent of the James Beard Awards. The 2026 Good Food Award winners were selected through a blind tasting process from more than 1,200 entries. This year’s winners represent some of the finest craft food and beverage producers in the United States.
