My first day back at the microbakery - I’m sure a lot of moms know this feeling of things being familiar yet not familiar at the same time when they go back to work…but I’m grateful to be back in some capacity, scaling ingredients, sheeting out cookie dough, and running the ovens for our latest cookie workshop. I always have the best of times connecting with all of you, and love watching everyone’s reaction to eating cookies straight out of the oven! It’s truly the best~

I’m co-hosting one more workshop this month with Hanna - we only have two more spots for modern ikebana next Sunday! It’s been such a blessing to learn from her and also be surrounded by the creativity of Linnan who makes our ceramics, as well as the beauty of the organic flowers from . Whenever I’m at home, I always default to my ikebana vessel to make more arrangements to bring a little brightness in the home - baby also loves looking at the flowers too (:

Every so often gorgeous flowers and ceramics fill our feed to signal that spring has sprung ~ we’re so excited to be getting back at it with hosting workshops again as I (Christine) get back on my feet from being in the newborn trenches. Celebrate mother’s day and the spring season with us with the following workshops below.

Modern ikebana workshop will be hosted again by florist Hanna La Salvia on Sunday, May 17th from 4 - 6 pm ! We’ll have locally grown, seasonal and organic flowers from , a new edition ikebana vessel handmade by local ceramicist Linnan from , and cookies and drinks to to snack on while arranging.

Cookie baking essentials is also now back on the calendar, and I’m excited to be doing it for the first time as a new mom! Our best selling workshop is a great opportunity for bakers of all levels to learn about the science behind making a great cookie, as well as getting the chance to taste and bring home freshly made cookies and cookie dough from our microbakery. Join us on Saturday, May 9th from 5 - 7 pm for this workshop to celebrate Mother’s Day (:

This past weekend was crazy to say the least - we had two of our team members call out sick, one of our ovens went down at 5 am in the morning on the first day of Renegade, and I was juggling a baby and dog for the first time at home alone while Peter rushed over to help out at Fort Mason. But through it all, we somehow managed to pull off another two days of complete sell outs. Swipe to the end to see the faces of two new parents frantically grabbing a photo of craft fair set up before their little one wakes up in the stroller haha.

All that to say, from our growing family, as well as our bakery family, thank you so much for your continued love for our cookies and pastries. It was a joy to get a glimpse of the bakery space after being away for most of this past month, and to grab a few pastries and cookies ourself! If you’re new here, come visit our microbakery in San Francisco Thursday - Sundays, at 2050 Bryant St. Pre-orders are available for cookies each day, and we also have delicious pastries available for walk-in orders only.

Also an important update - we’re pleased to share two open positions at our microbakery in San Francisco. All interested applicants can find the details with the links in our profile, and please spread the word to anyone who might be a great fit! We’re currently hiring for a full time baker to be part of the core team producing our cookies and viennoiserie while supporting daily operations, as well as a part-time retail operations associate (with the potential to become full time) to take ownership of our craft fair and pop-up operations.

I didn’t know what motherhood would look like until now, but I continue to see the importance of having a solid team to run christine’s, especially as my bandwidth turns more towards baby Esme. Christine’s is an all-women operation (with the help of a few craft fair boyfriends and husbands on occasion), and I must say, we’re a pretty great bunch of gals to work with, so if you’re interested or know anyone that is, send them our way (:

The most special Valentine’s is coming up for us this year - introducing Esme, our little baby girl. We love her so much despite the sleep deprivation we’re facing right now…but I just can’t with these photos. So excited for her to grow up with cookies, the bakery, and our lovely community of customers.

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and we’ve got your cookie needs covered. Bring joy in the form of a warm cookie and place an order for shipping on Tuesday, February 10th, or on the 14th for local pickup! Fun fact, these cookies were warmed up right before taking these photos…and they did not last long.

Due to continued supply chain delays, black sesame oreo will not be offered in any of our shipping packs, and we apologize for this inconvenience as we continue to trouble shoot this issue! However, we’re bringing back lemon earl grey earlier this year, to offer another cookie flavor on our menu.

Therefore, our medley pack will include the following this season: chocolate chip, chocolate walnut, salted peanut butter chocolate, lemon earl grey, and oatmeal brittle. The vegan medley pack will include: two vegan chocolate chip, two lemon earl grey, and one oatmeal brittle. We are unable to make any substitutions to these variety packs.

The microbakery transformed into a little baby shower over our holiday break - the space was filled with cookies of course, bites from other local bakeries, family and friends, and good feelings all around as we are patiently awaiting the arrival of baby Christine this week.

Wanted to quickly pop in as I start my maternity leave - the bakery will still be open and operating every Thursday - Sunday, thanks to our wonderful, dedicated team of bakers! We’ve brought back a few seasonals - the matcha tea cookie, as well as salted peanut butter chocolate (my and baby’s current pregnancy craving) - as well as a new black sesame praline croissant that you won’t want to miss. Swing on by for croissant and cookie goodness soon!

We’ll also be posting next when Valentine’s day pre-orders are open. We will be shipping one day in February nationwide, and it will be the last day we ship until the fall/winter holiday season later this year. Sign up for our email newsletter on our website to make sure you don’t miss it!

Happy holidays from all of us at christine’s~

So many amazing women have come into my life this year and years past to make christine’s what it is, and I owe it all to them for allowing me to prepare for a new chapter of motherhood. It means so much to be surrounded by hardworking individuals who are there not just for the work, but because they believe in our mission and want to support a woman-owned, small bakery business.

To all of you who bought a cookie, ordered for shipping, or shopped our wares for gifting this season, thank you! We are incredibly honored that you chose to have us be part of your holiday season this year, and are looking forward to a new year full of intention and more yummy things. We will be taking an extended break until 1/14, but until then, have a safe and restful holiday, and a wonderful start to your new year!

It’s been a cozy few days at the microbakery this holiday season - two sold out cookie workshops with the loveliest workshop attendees, lots of custom orders for gatherings, and shipments going out to spread some holiday cheer! Baby has been kicking lots getting to smell all the smells and listening to all your kind words - this is such a meaningful way for me to start winding down before preparing to be a first time mom (:

A few important updates as we near the end of this year:

The last day for nationwide shipping will be next Tuesday! Orders will close Monday, 12/15 at midnight. Thank you to those who have pre-ordered cookie packs already.

Our fall and winter seasonals, pumpkin doodle, chocolate crinkle, and the cranberry pistachio tea cookie, will also only be available until the rest of this calendar year. Pre-order them while we still have them available!

Our final opening day this year is 12/24, from 10 - 4. We will have pastries for walk-ins, and cookies available for pre-orders. We’d highly recommend putting pre-orders in as soon as you’re able, to make sure we have enough to go around. Our bakery team will be taking an extended break as well, and the microbakery will be closed from 12/25 - 1/14 for some much needed rest.

Thank you again for your support this year - my updates may be a bit sparse with baby on the way, but the bakery team will be ready for you all in the new year with more cookies and pastries to go around~

Some of you may have seen a little something peeking out of my apron for the past few months...we’re excited to share that baby Christine is coming this January! Peter and I filled in for this past weekend’s show with .collective , and it was wonderful to be surrounded by fellow mothers, mothers to be, and women business owners that so intentionally bring their visions to life. We feel honored to have sold out again in just a few hours, and appreciate all the love and congratulations as many of you saw me with my baby bump this past Saturday! This was likely the last show we’ll be working at as a couple, especially as we get ready for baby in the new year, but it was so wonderful to make this memory together with all of your incredible support.

I’ve been working hard with our bakery team to make sure all is ready before my maternity leave, baking as much as I can as we are now in the holiday season! Please read below for some friendly reminders and updates as we approach Thanksgiving and the month of December.

There are still a few spots available for our two cookie baking essentials workshops in December - Saturday 12/6 or 12/13 from 5 - 7 pm. These will likely be the last workshops I’ll host for a while as I prepare maternity leave, so be sure to sign up soon whether it’s for yourself or as a gift for a loved one!

As a reminder, we’re pulling one special opening day for Thanksgiving pre-orders - you can now order cookies for pickup on Wednesday, November 26th from 10 am - 4 pm for all your Thanksgiving cookie needs. We’ll also have cookies and pastries available for walk-in orders. Due to supply chain issues, we are putting pre-orders for black sesame oreo on hold, but this best selling cookie flavor should be back soon and we’ll update everyone as soon as it is!

Last, we will be at this upcoming weekend, our last show of the year! This past weekend was also a busy one at the microbakery, and we anticipate that we will have more early sell out days due to the nature of the holiday season. We’d highly recommend pre-ordering if you know you need cookies - orders close each day at midnight!

It’s already the middle of the month, but never too late to introduce our pastries for the month of November!

Whenever I go to the farmers market, I am one of those customers that is delightfully gushing over the beauty of nature’s bounty. All our produce for the month is sourced from and !

To start it off, our twist on the classic ham and cheese - a swiss mushroom croissant. Featuring dry sautéed, locally grown organic mushrooms with a hint of thyme, paired with swiss cheese, dijon mustard, and sesame seeds on top. A delight to crunch into, and a beauty to admire with all those layers peeking through!

Second, our seasonal danish - roasted butternut fennel. We roast and puree butternut squash, combine with roasted garlic and spices, then top off the puree with some olive oil caramelized fennel, parmesan cheese, and toasted pepitas. Butternut squash is one of my favorite produce items for the fall season, and it’s been a delight to bring all the warmth of fall into this pastry!

Last, a savory, warm monkey bread - roasted curry cauliflower. Cauliflower is processed into fine pieces, roasted with olive oil for that warm, delicious flavor, then combined with a blend of curry spices and caramelized shallots. We mix this concoction with our croissant dough, and put it into baking molds to make this delicious, savory monkey bread.

Traditional croissants and our brown butter pecan snail are still on the menu throughout this month as well. For those that are new to our pastries, all of these items are for walk-in orders only. They typically come out warm at the following times, and we thank you for those who have been so understanding that the croissant making process takes time and patience to come out right!

~10:30 am: Roasted butter fennel danish and curry cauliflower monkey bread
~ 11:30 am: Swiss mushroom croissant, brown butter pecan snail, traditional croissant

As usual, we’re open Thursday - Saturdays, 10 - 4 and Sunday 10 - 3. We’ll also be .collective this Saturday with our cookies, so hope to see you at either location soon (:
