With trays of baked goodies cooling beside me, I thought I would take a moment to introduce myself and let y'all know a little more about my baking philosophy. My name is Carrie Cox, and I'm the baker & owner here at Side Door Bakery. As with everything I would feed my own family, I strive to use only the best of ingredients: unbleached flour purchased from our local mill, Irish butter; organic in

gredients as often as possible, and high-end, gourmet ingredients the rest of the time. As often as I can, I will utilize ingredients that we have grown (organically, of course!) ourselves here in Salem, Va. I truly believe that the best flavor & quality comes from your ingredients, and I want to share that with all of you.

We've come to our very last week & last weekly goody, so I wanted to make it a special one. This week's treat is a pan of my delicious Hot Chocolate Rolls.
Similar to my cinnamon rolls but instead of cinnamon these have a rich cocoa filling and are topped with a homemade hot chocolate glaze and a mixture of chocolate & vanilla miniature marshmallows.
Pans are $15 each and will be available for pick-up this Friday, Dec. 13th. DM me to place your orders!

The season's upon us, it's that time of year, so help us make this last month of Side Door Bakery one to remember!!
This week brings us my delicious Candy Cane Kisses scones. They are infused with candy canes, full of Belgian chocolate chunks, & have crushed candy canes inside to keep that chocolate-to-candy cane ratio in perfect balance. They're then topped with a glaze and more crushed candy canes. The result is refreshingly cool and decadent.
Scones are $5 each and will be available for pickup this Friday, December 6th - just in time for you to kick off a weekend full of holiday festivities in Salem! DM me to place your orders!

Good morning! My kitchen is finally back to normal and that means weekly goodies can resume!!
It's a lovely November so far and that means we should have something equally lovely that just screams "Thanksgiving" and "Eat Me" for this week. 😄
These are the big, fluffy scones you know & love, packed full of delicious dried cranberries and then drizzled with a sweet & citrusy orange glaze.
They are $5 each and will be available for pickup this Friday, November 15th.

Surprise Friday night post from Side Door Bakery!! 🤯
It's that time again! I'll be making pans of Baba's Rolls for Thanksgiving again this year and am officially taking pre-orders.
Baba's Rolls are traditional yeast rolls made using my grandmother's recipe. They are soft and buttery and everything that is right and good about the holidays. Each 9" pan contains 12 handmade rolls.
Pans are $6 each and pre-orders are required to reserve yours for Thanksgiving. I'll be taking orders now through the 15th - or until I sell out, whichever comes first! Pickups will be on Wednesday the 27th. DM me to reserve yours.
And, with that said, I wish all of y'all a very relaxing and happy weekend. 😘
