🧡🌶️ MEET SEOUL MATE 🌶️🧡

The new Loaf of the Month has arrived, and she’s bringing something a little different to The Sour Bar!

Seoul Mate is a savory sourdough infused with gochujang, giving the entire loaf a gorgeous warm orange color and a rich, slightly sweet umami flavor. Inside, you’ll find a swirl of chili oil and fresh green onion that adds just the right little kick without overpowering all that savory goodness.

Colorful, flavorful, and definitely not your average loaf. Your new Seoul Mate might just be the one. 🧡

🍂 NEW SEASON, NEW CHANGES AT THE SOUR BAR! 🍂

As the seasons start to change, so are a few things at The Sour Bar, and I’m SO excited for what’s coming for the rest of the market season!

First, we’re saying a temporary goodbye to our sweet focaccia. 🥲 But don’t worry, because something savory is taking its place…

🍅 MARGHERITA PIZZA FOCACCIA 🍅

Think fluffy sourdough focaccia with all those classic Margherita pizza flavors, made even better with fresh picked tomatoes straight from my garden! 🍅🌿 Simple, fresh, savory, and SO yummy. I have a feeling this one is going to be a favorite!

And the best part about making a little extra room on the menu? MORE TALL BOYS! 🙌 I’ll now be able to make DOUBLE the amount of English muffins each week, which means more of you can finally get your hands on them and taste their amazingness!

AND we’re not done yet… 👀

A new month means NEW SEASONALS! Keep an eye out this week because the new seasonal flavors will be revealed soon!

🐐🍞 Meet Sammy Baker! 🍞🐐

Most of you have probably seen this little guy before… but you might not actually know who he is!

This is Sammy Baker, The Sour Bar’s little mascot! You’ll find him hanging out all over the place, from our stickers and banners to our logos, usually right alongside some yummy sourdough. He’s been part of The Sour Bar from the beginning and is always ready to represent everything fresh, fun, and sourdough around here.

So next time you spot Sammy Baker hanging around, now you know his name! 👋🏼

He may be small, but he takes his bread VERY seriously. 🍞

After a little weekend away, The Sour Bar is back and I’ll be at the Rochester Farmers Market THIS SATURDAY with all your sourdough favorites!

And your friendly reminder: PRE-ORDERS are the BEST way to make sure you get exactly what you want! 🙌

Market mornings can get busy and some favorites disappear fast. If you’ve been dreaming about a certain loaf, bagels, Tall Boys, focaccia, or Twisties, placing a pre-order means it’ll be waiting for you when you arrive. No crossing your fingers and hoping there’s one left!

One of my favorite little parts of The Sour Bar setup isn’t even the bread… it’s our drawing board! ✏️🤎

There’s always room for a little creativity at The Sour Bar! Each week, the drawing side of our sign has a new fun prompt for kiddos (and honestly, grown ups too 😉) to add their own masterpiece.

I absolutely LOVE seeing what everyone comes up with each week, so if you’re stopping by the booth, make sure the little artists in your crew know they’re always welcome to grab a marker and add something! 🎨

Just a little heads up that The Sour Bar will NOT be at the market this Saturday. I’ll miss seeing all of you, but we’ll be back soon with fresh sourdough, new drawings, and plenty more market mornings together. 🤎

🍞 SOURDOUGH FUN FACT 🍞

Did you know a fresh loaf of sourdough can actually “SING”? 🎶

Right after a loaf comes out of the oven, you might hear tiny crackles and pops coming from the crust.

As the bread cools, steam escapes and the crust contracts, creating those little cracking sounds. Bakers call it the bread “singing.” 🥖✨

So when you hear a fresh loaf crackling away… that’s just sourdough giving itself a round of applause. 👏

A new month means a brand new seasonal… and I couldn’t be more excited to finally share it with you!

🍁🥃 Introducing the Maple Bourbon Pecan Twisty! 🥃🍁

This month’s seasonal is everything I love about late summer and the start of cozy baking season. Layers of buttery sourdough are twisted with rich maple flavor and packed with homemade candied maple bourbon pecans for the perfect balance of sweet, nutty, and just a hint of bourbon warmth.

This one has been in the works for a while, and I can’t wait for everyone to finally try it.

You’ll be able to get your hands on it starting tomorrow at the Rochester Farmers Market at Graham Park, alongside all of your Sour Bar favorites. As always, once they’re gone, they’re gone!
