Last night felt like every New Yorker collectively grabbed the city by the shoulders and screamed, “NOT TODAY.”
The Garden was shaking.
The streets were shaking.
My group chat aged 14 years.
The Knicks didn’t just win a game. They committed a public act of emotional warfare against an entire fanbase and somehow we all thanked them for it.
One more.
Just one more.
I don’t know what’s louder right now: the crowd, the subway, or the irrational confidence currently coursing through my veins.
If you need me, I’ll be standing on a fire escape somewhere yelling “KNICKS IN FIVE” into the night like a Victorian woman waiting for her sailor to return from sea.
New York is running on caffeine, delusion, and playoff basketball.
And somehow that’s enough.
