🌱 Business Chats in the Garden — Episode 2

How do you hire help when you can barely pay yourself? 😩

Everybody tells small business owners, “You need to delegate!” “You can’t do everything yourself!” “Just hire somebody!”

And every time I hear it, I’m thinking… okay, WITH WHAT MONEY?! 😂

I’m at that weird stage of business where there’s becoming too much work for one person, but not always enough predictable revenue to comfortably support two.

I know I need help. I want the help. And I’m learning that building a team isn’t just about having enough work to give someone, it’s also about being financially ready to be responsible for someone else’s paycheck.

So right now, I’m figuring out what help can realistically look like for the business I have today, not the business I hope to have someday.

And I definitely don’t have this one figured out yet. 🌱

🌱 Business Chats in the Garden — Ep. 1: What If Enough Is Actually Enough?

Somewhere along the way, we were taught that successful businesses are supposed to keep getting bigger.

More customers. More employees. More locations. More everything.

But what if that isn’t everybody’s definition of success?

I don’t dream of having a Roll Dat Deaux on every corner. I dream of building a profitable, sustainable bakery that allows me to keep doing the work I love and have a life I love outside of it.

I still want to make the biscuits. I still want to bake the bread. I just want a little more help doing it. 😂

I don’t necessarily want to grow something huge.

I want to grow something good. 🌱

And maybe success is knowing what “enough” looks like for you instead of letting everybody else define it.
