Thank you, Muncie, for a wonderful weekend!!🥰

The Farmers Market at Minnetrista Museum & Gardens had gorgeous weather and a spectacular turnout!

The first-ever Q***r Business Expo hosted by Muncie Q***r Alliance was a ton of fun and had a feeling of community unlike most vending events which helped reinforce, for me, that these types of events are meaningful and important to have!

The good problem I now face is I gotta make a whole lotta chocolate before the upcoming events!

I've got some Blond White Chocolate going right now and have two small melangers going with 60% Dark Chocolate and on deck I have the Strawberry White Chocolate, Dark Oat Milk-Style Chocolate, a 90% Dark Chocolate, a batch of Malted Milk Chocolate and (finally) some Up All Night Espresso Chocolate!!!

But I gotta have all the Unapologetically Indulgent goods for y'all for the next few weeks:

🍫Pop-up for First Thursday (9/3 from 5p-8p) at the new shop location at 103 N High St in Downtown Muncie!

🍫Saturday Minnetrista Farmers Market 9/5 from 9a-noon!

🏳️‍🌈Muncie Pride (after the 9a-noon farmers market) on 9/12 at the Canan Commons from 2p-7p!

🏳️‍🌈Fishers Pride (after the 9a-noon farmers market) on 9/19 at Billericay Park in Fishers from 12p-5p!

And I'm hoping that it won't be much longer after then that I can announce a date for a Grand Opening of the new shop!! 🎉🎉🎉

I can't express all the gratitude I feel for getting to make y'all chocolate and to stand in solidarity with you!

After my grandpa passed away 22 years ago, I took on ownership of his console record player as a way to keep something of his close by

It's always been difficult to move around across the four states I've lived in, not to mention the places I moved while staying within one state's borders

But I've loved it and looking at it reminds me of when I used to play it when I was young and staying with him and I used to comb through his records

Many of them were country music artists I didn't know but there was this one of Dolly's that I made sure to keep for nostalgia more than actual playing, remembering some of the adoring things my grandpa (who was also from Tennessee) used to say about her talent and mountain holler roots that we have in common

But I also have a vinyl of Tim Curry as well, even if the original cover has long since been lost somehow, likely in one of those many moves

The record itself is mid, but I adore Tim and he can do no wrong in my mind; my favorite movie is Clue and has been my favorite since I first saw it when I was a five-year-old kid watching it on TV at my babysitters

I've been pretty swallowed by grief today if I'm honest and I recognize I'm not alone and I also recognize that I've met neither Dolly or Tim in person but it doesn't lessen the grief I feel

Tim was my favorite actor with his commitment to silly yet authentic and Dolly was an impeccable role model showing all of us the best of humanity

Even though I feel foggy in my mind with the loss of these wonderful artists and humans, I feel like the lesson I need to carry from both of them is to be kind, silly, and authentic to myself at all times

Be kind even when there's no credit for it. Be silly when there's terrors facing the world. Be authentic when power structures would rather I conform or cease...

I'll take the assignment seriously

I hope folks who are grieving with me can find some softness and comfort in knowing we got to share in the same time line as these humans and how fortunate are we for that 🧡🦋💔🏳️‍🌈

Q***r Chocolatier started at my first farmers market NINE YEARS AGO TODAY!!!

Where to even begin?

I guess I could begin at the beginning but *which* beginning?

I launched in 2017

I opened a shop in the Village in 2018

I had my first employees in 2019

I navigated my first pandemic in 2020

I tried to open a new location in 2021

I failed to open that location in 2022

I rented from a lovely church kitchen in 2023

I took a mental & physical health break in 2024

I started operating as a home-based vendor in 2025

And I'm in the midst of re-opening a new brick & mortar location now in 2026

I have learned so much through every beginning and ending and all the spaces in between

Part of me feels like saying it's been nine years for the business is more grandiose than it actually has been, but even if the years have not been continuous and stable, I did open this business nine years ago and there's nothing that can take that brave and terrifying moment away

Today, I can truly say I'm really happy that I've managed to survive it all and am ready to have yet another new day and lease on life (and business)

My mind cannot stop imagining what chocolate wonders will be created and consumed in my new shop!

Nine years of practice, on top of 13 years of making truffles and desserts prior to QC ever existing, will all pour into everything made in the shop to come

Nearly half my life has been chocolate-driven and nearly 20% of my life has been as an entrepreneur and it's bonkers for me to think of all this in those terms!

But I'm so proud and so grateful and so ready for what's next!

Thank you forever!!
