Hey fam, we got a chocolate shop!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

I'm overwhelmed with a lot of feelings and also recently gained a good understanding of the perspective of the dog that caught the car...

I'm ready but somehow surprised it's all now here and happening and real and WHAT!!??!??!!??

So, here's what y'all should look forward to in the coming days:

🍫GRAND OPENING IS OCTOBER 24TH!!!! 10a-5p!! 103 N High St. in Downtown Muncie!!

🍫Between now and then, I'm gonna spend the next several days getting the team trained and prepared for making products and running the shop as well as finish up the tiny touches needed in the physical space

🍫Pre-orders for shipping all over the country will be open starting tomorrow with the website updated to reflect all our offerings that are available for shipping!!! Pre-orders will go out on October 26th!!!

🍫Regular hours after the Grand Opening will be Wednesday - Sunday 10a-7p!!

🍫More to come regarding tasting events, tours, holiday activities, and beyond, but between now and the new year my priority is getting my team established and well-trained so that we can grow and expand sustainably!

Another hurdle cleared!!🏃‍♀️💨💪

Q***r Chocolatier got its Certificate of Occupancy this morning!!

The next and last step is to pass the final health inspection which should hopefully be next week!

Me and my team have still a fair bit of final touches to wrap up, then big training days, and then we will be ready to serve y'all unapologetic indulgence!!

After we complete and pass our health inspection, look for our Grand Opening date announcement!!🎉🎉🎉

This journey is something between a joyful pain and a painful joy but I don't want it to end any time soon!!

I'm sure it's because I'm in the midst of all the big new changes again that I'm mourning and missing my best friend, my great grandmother

I think of her often, and most of the times I think of her, it is with more gladness than sadness but today as I'm close to reopening a storefront for Q***r Chocolatier, I can't stop myself from wishing she were here to have witnessed any of this journey

She passed away sixteen years ago today, so there's a whole lot about who I have become that she's not been with me to share in: grad school, living in different states, being married, being a step-mom, and being a business owner

But she did get to see me be politically active and we often discussed politics as well as sports, family, and always food, so some of who I am was around while she was, too

When I remember her, I don't worry about whether she'd have been proud of me, I know she would because she was loudly and lovingly proud of me all my life

I just wish that she could see the community that has come up around this business, hear how I navigate challenges and successes, and taste how much I've grown as a chocolate-obsessed person

Grandma B was such a wise, kind, and funny woman and I'm going to have her swimming in my thoughts today while I do my best to ride the waves of grief at the same time

We are delighted and honored to be named as the 3rd-place winners of the People's Choice voting during the 14th annual Soup Crawl benefitting Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana!

Our location was a little off the beaten path over on the northwest part of Downtown Muncie so we deeply appreciate all those who got their steps in to come visit us and try our Chocolate Soup Dumplings with Salted Caramel Whipped Cream! 🏳️‍🌈🍫🥟

Thank you so very much!!

I'm so proud of Muncie and all of the soup vendors and community members who came together for such a great cause to help feed our neighbors when it is increasingly hard for folks to keep food on the table. A job well done by everyone involved!!

And I'm SOUPER proud of my new team for trauma bonding through the process of making 600 chocolate soup dumplings all in one day!! Floyd, Tay, Maxine, and Matt deserve all the praise in the world for working together seamlessly!

All of us are looking forward to welcoming you during our upcoming grand opening later this month!!!🎉🎉🎉

I had a great time for tonight's Soup Crawl 2026 benefitting Second Harvest ECI working with my new team in our new space making a brand new recipe!🍫🥟

The team worked so well together and supported each other all day, I'm really proud of how we (trauma) bonded! 🤣💪

Chocolate soup dumplings with a salted caramel whipped cream is a fun bite and I'm strongly considering having this dish as a part of a regular offering!!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and chatted with us, encouraged us, and sounded excited about our upcoming grand opening!

And the biggest thank you to my team and my family for putting up with my chaotic scramble to bring my dream back to life
