Hi y’all

This is a friendly little post reminder before I get back in to the shop this week. While I wish it were possible to give my customers all their favorites whenever they want them, it just isn’t. That starts with the fact that I am only one person. I am also a single mother of 3. I also personal train part time in order to support this business.

But more than that, everything I make starts at the basics, flour, butter, and takes TIME. Cinnamon rolls are a 3 hour minimum process. There is no mixer, it’s all done by hand. And the Daisy, which will be making an appearance again this week, is even longer. The curd has to be made ahead of time and allowed to cool in the fridge before it is ready to go in the already 3 hour process for rolls. There just aren’t enough hours in the day…..or hands…..or ovens in my shop. I promise I am doing what I can and it is all done with love.

So if you don’t see what you expect when you walk in, please remember this. If a price has increased on your favorite item, please remember this. If I look tired, please remember this. And remember what our wonderful 26th president Theodore Roosevelt said

“Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty.”

Sometimes you get the honor of mixing business and pleasure. I recently got to experience that.

These pictures aren’t a business promotion or a plea for more weddings. They are an outpouring of gratitude. For life, love, gifts, and people.

I never would have imagined my journey would bring me here. To a place where I got to create for a dear friend. And then relax as her guest at a beautiful wedding. I could not have imagined a better way to spend a Saturday at work then to end it by smiling at the love shared between two people. May your lives be long and blessed 🤍

Alright folks, lemon lovers come on in…..this is the Daisy roll!!

Homemade lemon curd wrapped in my signature cinnamon roll dough and topped with a lemonade glaze 🍋 🍋 she will be a summer seasonal flavor.

The name my friends comes from Doc’s famous line “you’re a daisy if you do.” Come be a daisy and let me know your thoughts!!

It’s been 2 1/2 years since I opened this little place I call Huckle. I had a plan…..sort of. In fact, a good friend told me when I was in the process of opening that I should throw my plans to the wind, make cinnamon rolls only, and call my place “The Cinnamon Roll.” I actually told him he was ridiculous and then ate my words when y’all made my cinnamon rolls my best seller immediately.

The moral of the story here is that business plans are just that…..plans. They need to shift and pivot because business in the food industry requires you be flexible and adjust with the times and the demands.

Over the course of time I have been open, I have changed a lot and will continue to do so. What that means for you is that I have been experimenting greatly over the last 6 months or so. You now have 3 specialty rolls named after the Earp brothers, seasonal favorites such as Peppernuts, and there MAY just be another summer seasonal roll being added here before long…..

I love what I do folks. And I appreciate the support y’all have shown me so I will continue to listen and adapt and give the people what they want! Stay tuned……

Many of you asked how my vacation was and that was quite kind. I figured since so many asked I might as well show you my trip to New Mexico, how I got away and enjoyed nature to reset. And just because Kansas can be it’s own kind of beautiful there are a couple pictures of the wheat and storms from the drive home. My heart feels renewed
