Chai-Spice Carrot Cake Bundtlettes

My Easter baking was unfortunately limited this year to our family gathering only as we recovered from illness—but this Chai Spice Carrot Loaf Cake recipe from absolutely hit the spot as our after-dinner treat!

I opted to top these with a chai glaze and we had so much fun dressing them up with festive sprinkles of our choosing! So proud to feature the decorative work of my two daughters here!

Taro Yam + Blackberry

I’ve been away for a bit because life is changing. Of course we know that change is constant—that’s just part of the deal—but some changes are simply more difficult than others to accept, to navigate, and to bear.

This was supposed to be my Valentine’s Day project, but I have been in survival mode for the past month, so you’re just now seeing it today.

Finding the courage to try something different is not going to be easy. I’m hoping to remain open to the idea that this change, while extremely difficult right now, will yield good things down the road.

Red Beet Red Velvet Rosebud Cakes with Raspberry Glaze

Here is my first bake in the Rosebud cake pan—with more yummy experiments to ensue as we lead up to February 14th!

I used my Red Beet Powder to make their Red Velvet Cake recipe, and I absolutely loved the outcome. I dig the natural color and flavor (it’s wonderfully chocolate-y, promise) plus the crumb is divine! And that raspberry glaze seals it with a perfectly sweet and tart kiss 💌

So this is love…

Sorry for the delay, all. Did anyone see that last ingredient coming? I had an intense chocolate craving last week, and a very specific one, at that. For me, this meant I needed to add lavender. I always love what it accomplishes alongside chocolate—it is the perfect floral elevation for chocolate’s comforting richness, density, and depth; the addition of cherry here meant just the right amount of sweet (and pink!) and was a delight to the heart, the palate, and the eye.

Peach Cobbler Pound Cake with Peaches + Pecan Pie Topping

I’m really happy with the warmth these photos evoke. I’m also happy that I could slow down and really take my time with this bake; documenting all of the rich colors and textures at every step in the process. It seems like the last several photos I’ve posted have lacked the natural light I love and typically utilize for photographing my cakes. While I am enjoying the sunshine in that regard, it does belie the frigid temps we’re currently experiencing…🥶

Hopefully more thoughts on this cake soon—stay cozy, all!

Flourless Chocolate + Raspberry

I promise this isn’t some sort of New Year’s healthier food kick, but I did try a little gluten-free thing recently! These little cakes were simple to make and a pleasure to eat—very rich and oh-so-chocolatey! And now I’m ready to put raspberry coulis on just about anything!
