If you’d like bread for next week, please place your preorder today! The loaves freeze beautifully, just slice before freezing (or freeze whole), then thaw as needed for fresh bread throughout the week.

One whole year of The Sour Chick!!!🥳

Guess I’m a little overdue for an introduction, huh? 😅
So for those of you that don’t know me… Hey! I’m Ashley, the baker behind the bread 🥖

I started The Sour Chick during a season when I needed a little extra joy in my life. What began as a hobby quickly became the part of my week I looked forward to most, and honestly….it still is. There’s something special about slowing down, working with your hands, and creating something that brings people together.

I never imagined that one year later I’d still be here baking for such an amazing community. Your support, encouragement, shares, orders, and kind words have helped turn this little dream into something so much bigger than I ever expected.

Thank you for welcoming my bread to your tables this past year. I’m so grateful you’re here, and I can’t wait to see what year two has in store.

Fun fact: The name “The Sour Chick” comes from combining my two favorite things…sourdough and my chickens!

These tiny employees hatched this week and while they contribute nothing to this bakery except for expensive feed bills, they were too cute not to share!🐣💛
