Anybody else feel like life is flying by and no matter what ya do, you can’t catch up or slow down?
This morning is a gift. The sun is perfect in a cloudless sky. The chai is spicy. The hoodie is MAGICAL in 64 degrees on my front porch swing, at my favorite place to be…home. Mornings like this beckon me to sit. Be Still. Not a strong suit of mine, but my heart has a certain reverence for the perfect set up to not disturb the majesty of His Glory he’s so lovingly and generously sharing with us this morning. Wish I could bottle this and pour it out on other days and times of the day when the stage isn’t so eloquently set for a natural sense of joy flowing from my heart as it is now.
It’ll only be available, this perfect few moments for a minute as we have physical therapy after Eli’s surgery a week ago, “therapy” for something non-physical that’s heavy, work, mowing, catching up on housework, laundry, etc… None of those things are a burden to me. I’m thankful He’s given me the ability and the schedule to be available for all of these things. And, the healing.
The picture is a log of sorts I was keeping daily almost 2 years ago now of scripture that was speaking to me and the amount of days after the injury took my sight. I was hoping to be able to count them and then just look back after a few months and see (with both eyes) the thoughts and obstacles He was bringing me through. In this particular entry it had been 48 days since I had gone blind. That’s seemed like an eternity with all of the doctors appointments, pain killers, steroids and antibiotics trying to kill a rare infection, and my personal favorite dozens and dozens of injections straight into my left eyeball. I couldn’t drive, couldn’t really do anything.
Siri just told me that as of today, it’s been 720 days since I went blind that Friday. Almost 2 years now. In my opinion I am fully functioning again. I can drive and walk without falling most days lol. It still doesn’t look like I want it to. Healing has not yet come. I am still blind. “But, as for me, I will sing about Your Power. Each morning I will sing about your unfailing love”…Psalm 59:16-17
Have the best day, friends. Love you all. 🩷
