There is a great story behind this pie. We picked apples for free at a local museum with excess apple trees. Then I baked the pie it in a hotel kitchen with rudimentary supplies. I cut the butter using two mismatched forked into a small bowl and then rolled the crust inside a plastic ziplock bag using my water bottle as a rolling pin! It was a fun experiment to see what I could make and how far I have come as a baker.
