It's been minute! 😅

Between an intense ear infection and trying to find my rhythm of baking in the summer, I have needed to take some time off of bake days. I do plan to have a few throughout the summer, but it will be a bit lighter of a schedule.

I did JUST post a bake day for THIS Wednesday, July 3. You can pick up in Faribault or just South of Medford.

Sometimes you just want a soft, not-crispy-crust piece of bread! It's been a long time since I've made a loaf of sourdough sandwich bread. I forgot how good it is!!

I posted a bake day with a pick up on Friday afternoon. There is an option to pick up in Faribault or just south of Medford.

Orders close Wednesday at 3pm so I can get going on the beautiful sourdough process!

Things are going fast, so be sure to place an order soon if you want some bread this week!

I love the simplicity of ingredients in long fermented sourdough. Just flour, water, and salt.

Although many grocery stores may carry breads labeled “sourdough”, more often than not they are in fact fake sourdough. Real sourdough takes time. But large food manufacturers don’t have time so they will take shortcuts to create products faster and at a cheaper price. Many store-bought versions of sourdough include added yeast, ascorbic acid, vinegar, and oil.

This fake sourdough does not have the health benefits or the taste that long fermented sourdough has. If you've had sourdough from a grocery store or a restaurant, and you didn't like it, chances are, it wasn't true long fermented sourdough. And you should give it a real try! I know a girl. 😉

I'm always a little nervous about the bread I bake. That the inclusions aren't evenly distributed. That there is separation between the bread and cinnamon swirl. That the crumb isn't just right. 🍞

I don't take it lightly that people spend their hard earned money to buy something that I bake. I want everything to be the very best.

So when I got this picture from someone who bought a loaf of Sourdough Cinnamon Swirl Raisin Bread, I literally did a little dance in my kitchen! 💃🏻

Also, I made some changes to my loaves this time around in attempts to get a perfect swirl with no gaps. Looks like it worked! 🤩
