Sometimes the best classroom is outside, where there's room to spread out, experiment, make discoveries, and fully immerse ourselves in the experience.
What began as an invitation to explore quickly became an investigation filled with bubbling reactions, changing colors, dinosaurs, and plenty of questions.
But what we love most about these experiences is watching how the learning unfolds.
Children begin by exploring the materials, discovering their properties and imagining what might happen.
Then comes testing. Adding water, mixing substances, observing reactions, changing quantities, and trying something different to see what happens next.
As the experience progresses, they're making connections, developing hypotheses, solving problems, and building on what they've discovered.
And finally, cleaning up. Gathering materials, rinsing tools, washing trays, and caring for the environment they've used. This isn't something separate from the learning. It's an important part of the process, fostering independence, responsibility, coordination, and respect for shared spaces.
At MHK Play Studio, we believe meaningful learning takes time. Time to explore an idea, revisit it, change direction, and follow curiosity wherever it leads.
And on beautiful days, sometimes that means taking the entire experience outside, embracing the splashes, and letting the investigation unfold.
Because the process matters just as much as the discovery.
