People ask me all the time how I manage baking on top of being a mom.

The answer isn’t glamorous.

It’s late nights after my kids are asleep. Early mornings before the house wakes up. A lot of Dr Pepper, audiobooks, and binging tv shows. A husband who basically does whatever I need (like seriously whatever, from baking cookies to helping me color match to assembling boxes).

Tonight, I wrapped up 3 of the 4 cookie doughs for tomorrow’s orders. Tomorrow still holds one more dough to make, three cookie flavors to bake, and two buttercreams to whip up. Oh and a whole lot of piping (I’m looking at you, 25 baseball sugar cookies)

Sometimes small business ownership looks like pretty photos and finished products. Sometimes it looks like containers full of cookie dough and a to-do list that isn’t quite done yet.

But I’m grateful for every order, every share, and every person who trusts me to bake something special for them. 💕

Now to fit in a little bit of sleep before I’m back up and at it.

My kitchen has a bad habit of producing “extras.”

My freezer says we should keep them.
My husband and kids say we should eat them.
I say we should have a porch pop-up.

Thinking about setting up an honor-system cookie stand Saturday with extra cookies and some of those viral Dot Cakes. If enough people are interested, I’ll make it happen.
