The Cardamom Bun origin story is very interesting! Typically, cardamom buns as a bakery "species" were created in Scandinavia even though the cardamom spice itself is grown on the Indian subcontinent. Cardamom appeared as early as the 16th century in Northern European countries - this spice having traveled 7,000 miles by boat! Cardamom has a distinct mentholated citrus taste, and has strong healing properties. As with everything we make, we try to be as authentic as possible to the original recipes!
