I spent $259 at the farmers market today

We had a team movie night BRAIN DEAD STUDIOS with a selection of snacks from Costco and BESTIES . We watched The Big Night with a young Stanley Tucci and thought about the parallels of all immigrants coming with a dream to America and the parallels of explaining why seafood risotto doesn’t have whole pieces of seafood and why our croissants don’t have butter to the masses. We’re doing a new thing people!!!!

Our team works so hard, wakes up so early, works weekends and holidays and they stand all day and lift up to 50 # of flour (not more per osha) to bring you guys pastries!

Feels crazy to poach pears when it’s 90F outside!!! But time marches forward. We have all our weekend specials this week: cinnamon rolls, pear caramel coffee cake, plum galettes, Chinese hot dog buns etc etc I know I’m forgetting most of them….

Once again, our oven is mostly working. S/O SoCalGas for sending a tech out to look at it within 2 hours.

For everyone that’s in town this weekend for Sound and Fury, we are open for this weekend from 8-4. Bring your non vegan friends and don’t tell them we’re all vegan. They won’t believe it.

We are selling popsicles from Sungold Ice Pops all weekend at S&F. No pastries at the fest!

EVERYONE WATCHES WOMENS SPORTS

When we opened Alpine, we applied for a 0% interest loan through Lendistry Out of 600 applicants we were one of 13 to be approved! What a blessing. Lendistry had us at the The Los Angeles Sparks for their small business spotlight. Small businesses are the heart of LA.

Ok we got major specials this weekend:
🌭Chinese style hot dog buns: you know like the ones from Kee Wah! Mayo, hot doggies, scallions on a soft bun. Yes they’re vegan!
🍑a very good peach coffee cake with caramel surprise and almond streusel
🌸plum galettes (yes, yellow plums). I watched a chez panisse video recently so I had to make a galette after that ya kno
