❤️ If you’ve visited Cookies & Cream, chances are you’ve met Ricky! You may have even seen him praying with someone, something he truly loves to do. Ricky has such a gentle soul and enjoys connecting with people.

And, of course, he loves his favorite treat — 2 scoops of chocolate ice cream with a chocolate chip cookie! 🍦🍪

Ricky also LOVES karaoke, and let me tell you, he can sing! He’s got quite a nice voice! 🎤🎶

A small group of caring local people and businesses help make sure Ricky has a warm place to stay during Michigan’s cold winter days.

Please join us Friday night at Irish Tavern Lake Orion for his fundraiser! If you can’t attend, please consider making a donation through the link below. Every little bit helps provide Ricky with warmth and shelter this winter. ❤️

Let’s show Ricky the same love and kindness he so freely shares with others! ❤️

🎉 BIG NEWS FOR DOWNTOWN LAKE ORION! 🎉

We’ve always known there’s something pretty special about our little downtown—and now it’s getting NATIONAL recognition! 💙

Downtown Lake Orion has been selected as one of just 8 semifinalists in the entire country for the 2027 Great American Main Street Award! 🇺🇸

As a small business in the heart of downtown, we are so proud to be part of this community. What makes Downtown Lake Orion special isn’t just the shops, restaurants, parks and events—it’s the people who care deeply about this place.

A perfect example is our Illuminator The Illuminators - Downtown LO Volunteers program, filled with incredible volunteers who simply love our downtown and give their time and talents to make it even better. Whether they’re helping at events, welcoming visitors, cleaning up downtown, creating chalk art, planting and beautifying spaces, or lending a hand wherever it’s needed, their pride in Lake Orion shines through. 💙

Add to that our dedicated Lake Orion DDA, downtown businesses, residents, community partners and everyone who continues to shop local, attend events and support our downtown—and you can see why Lake Orion is such a special place.

We see that community spirit every day here at Cookies & Cream, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have called Downtown Lake Orion home for the past 8 years. 🍦

TOP 8 IN THE NATION! That is something our whole community can be proud of! 🎉

Congratulations, Lake Orion! 💙

We are SO excited to announce this year's 2027 Great American Main Street Awards (GAMSA) semifinalists! GAMSA recognizes Main Street programs that demonstrate exceptional achievement in downtown revitalization, and these eight semifinalists show how communities can grow and thrive with the Main Street Approach. Congratulations, semifinalists!

We already know how special our downtown is—but it sure is an honor when the rest of the country notices, too! 💙

We’re so proud to see Downtown Lake Orion nominated for TWO national recognitions at the America in Bloom Symposium:

🌟 Coolest Downtown
🌸 Flower Power: Best Hanging Basket Program

As a downtown business, we get to experience every day what makes this community so special—the beautiful surroundings, incredible events, local businesses, volunteers, and most of all, the people who bring our downtown to life.

A special thank you to our DDA Executive Director, Matthew A Gibb whose leadership, hard work, and commitment help make recognitions like these possible. He’s at the symposium right now doing what he does best—networking, sharing ideas, learning from other communities, and bringing new ideas home to Lake Orion.

We’ve always thought we have a pretty great downtown. It’s awfully nice to see it recognized on a national stage! 🍦💙🌸

It was a WILD night in Downtown Lake Orion! 🍦🐾

The finished Judy chalk art turned out amazing! A huge thank you to our talented local high school artist, Sy, for creating such a fun photo spot for Zootopia 2 Movie Night. We loved watching families stop to take pictures with Judy throughout the evening. 📸🎨

And The Wild Bowl was a hit! Kids had so much fun picking their favorite ice cream flavor and keepsake bowl, then topping it off with whipped cream, colorful star sprinkles and that crazy gummy snake. 🐍⭐🍦

But the best part was looking out and seeing Children’s Park filled with families — blankets spread out, kids having fun, ice cream in hand and everyone enjoying a movie together right in the heart of our downtown. ❤️

A special thank you to the Downtown Lake Orion Development Authority for creating this wonderful community event, and to event sponsors Red Piano Music Studio and Messy Designs for helping make the night possible! 👏❤️

Events like this are what downtown is all about — bringing people together, supporting local businesses and creating memories with family and friends.

The Wild Bowl may just have to make another appearance! 😉🍦🐾
