When a water main break forced Orion Township into a State of Emergency on Mother's Day, the impact extended far beyond our water system. Many local businesses lost out on one of the busiest shopping and dining days of the year as celebrations were canceled, postponed, or moved elsewhere.

On Mother's Day and in the days that followed, many restaurants, stores, and other businesses temporarily closed or reduced services, sacrificing revenue to help preserve and restore our water supply for the good of the community.

Now it's our turn to show up for them.

Orion, it's time for a REDO:

Orion Township, Downtown Lake Orion, Orion Area Chamber of Commerce, and The Illuminators are declaring June 14 a Mother's Day Do-Over and encouraging residents to shop, dine, and explore local that day and throughout the week that follows. Together, we can help restore some of the sales, visits, and opportunities local businesses missed when one of their brightest days of the year was unexpectedly dimmed.

Whether it's rebooking a brunch, buying a gift, scheduling an experience, or simply choosing to spend local, every visit makes a difference.

The water emergency may be behind us, but our Orion spirit continues to illuminate what makes this community special; we love, support, and show up for the people and places that make Orion home.💚 ✨

Penny Thymes will be at the Holly Farmers Market this Sunday, May 17th from 10 AM–2 PM at Crapo Park in Holly, Michigan! 💕

We’ll be bringing a cozy mix of fresh sourdough breads, sweet treats, and some market favorites like Dill Pickle Sourdough, Morning Buns, Lemon Scones, and more ✨ Everything is baked fresh starting around 2 AM Sunday morning so it’s as fresh as possible for market day!

I just wanted to say the biggest THANK YOU to everyone who came out to the Holly Farmers Market on Sunday and supported Penny Thymes 🫶

You guys completely sold us out, and I am still in shock 😭✨

Also… sorry for the late post 😅
I got home, sat down for a second… and was done 😂💤

Between prep, a 2 AM bake, and the market, I was sooo tired—but in the best way 💛

Your support means everything to me, and I can’t wait to do it all again soon (with even more goodies 👀🍞)
