Hi friends,

It's been a little while since I last popped into your inbox, and July felt like the perfect time to say hello.
The last few months have been a whirlwind in the best way. One day I'm designing a wedding cake, the next I'm teaching a class, styling a party at the studio, or creating custom desserts for a local business. Every week looks a little different, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

As we kick off the second half of the year, I wanted to share a few things I'm especially excited about.

Wedding Season

Wedding season is in full swing, and August is shaping up to be one of our busiest months yet. Every couple brings a different vision, and I can't wait to share some of the beautiful celebrations we'll be part of over the next few months.

Experiences

Whether you're looking for a fun evening with friends, a date night, or simply an excuse to get creative, I'd love to see you in the studio.
Summer classer are filling up and I'm excited to share that the holiday class calendar will be live this weekend. Along with returning favorites, you'll find a few new seasonal experiences that I can't wait to host.

Remember you can also book a private experience just for your group.

Celebrations at the Studio

Celebrations at Alma Mia have truly filled my cup this year. Garden themed parties have quickly become my favorite! I love transforming the studio to match each celebration, from the tablescape to all the thoughtful little details that make each event unique.
I can't wait to bring to life the beautiful baby showers and bridal showers we have coming up this season.

To Our Business Friends

Watching Grand Rapids continue to grow has been incredibly exciting, and it's been an honor for Sweet Details GR to be part of some of those milestone moments. Over the past few months, we've had the privilege of creating treats for the grand opening of the Acrisure Amphitheater, the logo reveal for the Amway Stadium, and even welcoming Lionel Richie to Grand Rapids.
Now I'm looking ahead to one of my favorite times of the year: holiday planning. If you're thinking about client gifts, logo cookies, desserts for your holiday celebration, or a team workshop, now is the perfect time to start the conversation. I can't wait to help make this holiday season a little sweeter.

Butterflies, peonies, hand-painted details... and 13 custom edible charms hidden throughout the design, each representing something meaningful to the birthday girl.

One of my favorite parts of creating custom cakes is finding ways to incorporate details that are meaningful to my clients. No two celebrations are the same, and no two cakes should be either.

If you can dream it, chances are we can find a way to bring it to life in sugar.

The sky is the limit when it comes to creating a cake that is uniquely yours.

This photo is exactly why I love working with photographers who truly care about their couples.

Anyone can photograph a cake.

But capturing the moment a couple sees it for the first time? That's different.

As cake artists, we spend hours obsessing over every detail, hoping it feels as special as the day itself. Seeing their reaction is a reminder that what we create is about so much more than dessert.

It's about being part of a memory.

I'm especially grateful for photographers who care deeply about their couples and also about the creative team behind the day. They understand that every detail represents an investment, not just financially, but emotionally. They know the flowers, the stationery, the cake, and every thoughtful touch are all part of the story their couple has worked so hard to create.

When vendors genuinely support one another, those details don't just get documented, they get celebrated.
